Such a stupid thing to say that, even by the high standards of saying stupid things that exists nowadays. I really hate how politics has adopted all the worst traits of modern scriptwriting; things must be publicly condemned, words, gestures or positions taken on a topic are as good as / better than actually doing something and by the next episode all the problems have gone away.

The Iranian regime probably wants increased and public tension with the West to distract the populace from the protests, the last thing we should do is give them that conflict. Them supplying the Russians with drones is fundamentally meaningless to this conflict, its is not something that we can stop against the will of the Iranians and there is an awful lot we can do elsewhere to respond to it much more effectively.

I find that very difficult to believe to be honest - getting control over that dam has restored the water supply to a big chunk of Crimea. Blowing it up totally (especially if it was a precursor to pulling back) would cut the supply via the canal again.
