The poster I replied to explained, in detail with supporting evidence, why he believed teh video to be faked. I enquired as to his thoughts on earlier media. The "?" at the end of a sentence normally indicates a question rather than a statement.

Meant to reply about the execution vid as well, think it was you who shared the Spanish guys analysis of it.

Couple of things stick out though for me.

Why release a 4 second clip then two days later include another 2 seconds, if it's the filming of the entire incident wouldn't it make sense to release it all, the second clip btw if you've watched it has been digitally altered from.the original, the red flag has been added afterwards, watch it frame by frame and it's very clearly the case. I can't honestly say if the guys assesment of the vest is correct or not as no idea about.

My thoughts are it is indeed showing executions of 'collaborators', speculation is Ukrainian teachers who worked in the occupied schools reaching the Russian curriculum. Likely by one of the far right military groups.

Anyone who doesn't believe some pretty horrid reprisals are going on is deluding themselves I feel. (The leaving people behind by Russian units pulling out of those areas I do regard as unforgivable too btw, knowing a very likely fate in store for lots of them)

Last point on the matter - think this is the first war in history which effectively sees both sides using social media on a massive scale - and lots of what we're seeing from both is fake, altered or just staged, like it always does it'll all come out which stuff was what in the end, but whilst the conflict is hot I'm sceptical of nearly everything to a degree

It’s common knowledge, I’ve heard first hand testimony, that the teachers were not given a choice by the Russians. I doubt they’d be treated a collaborators unless they (the teachers) took it further themselves

I don't think the phone and beard thing alone would be enough given it's not a normal situation but get it with all of the other aspects too that it seems more likely to have been faked. On the accent thing could it not be that they have been brought to Moscow from elsewhere and then sent to the front line so they might not all have Moscow accents?

Totally agree - and thought the same in accents as he doesn't say 'from' Moscow but 'left' moscow, the guy saying that could also be from Moscow by not a native Muscovite also (he's got eastern blood for sure)

It's circumstantial evidence but enough of it that it feels fake,

That is why I gave Davids a wide birth until he did my head in with circular references. He never really spoke about Ukraine, and I suppose he is a Russian sympathizer who dearly hates the West especially the US. It has been a breath of fresh air not having to know what he is on about lately.
Here we go with the childlike "don't trust the US?" so you are by default a supporter of Russia. Lazy posting, but then that's not a surprise.

Seen interviews with teachers who refused mate, they where fired basically on the spot - it's why they bussed in a few hundred from Russia to replace those who wouldn't do so. Honestly don't know if some areas they where forced to teach or was it more you teach our way or leave.

The collaboration things weird as I do understand how certain people doing so are reprehensible and deserve punishment - but very rarely does it stop with those and it can massively spiral - especially so in certain climates.

This region saw the very worst of it twice in 4/5 years in the 40s

It's a thread about Putin's invasion of the Ukraine. So far, your criticisms of the Ukraine, Tony Blair, western media, the US, other posters and countless other mostly unrelated things have outweighed your criticisms of Putin and Russia by about 100 to 1. In fact, I'm not even sure you have criticised Russia.

You're either completely thick or know how it looks and are on a crap windup. SaD tO sEe EvErYoNe DeSpErAtE fOr NuCleAr WaR

Well yeh, a quick Google here in England and it talks of teachers being forced/tortured/detained etc, no dount your search will say something very different. Makes it hard to discuss/argue when we are singning off completely different hymn sheets regarding the same subject.

Quite a bizarre situation really

I know that after WWII colaborators everywhere were dealt a very heavy blow, whilst it sounds justified (to me at least) there are always differing circumstances and often kangaoo courts etc

Shame for all invloved

According to the Chapter 8 Article 344 of the Charter of the Armed Forces servicemen are obliged ‘to regularly bath, brush teeth, cut nails, hair and shave clean’.
Technically it means that the facial hair is not allowed. (Doesn't one of those have a beard?)
Meanwhile, the same charter says that ‘mustaches has to be tidy and not to prevent the proper use of individual protective equipment’ meaning a gas mask.
That means the mustaches are allowed when they are tidy.
At the same time Navy has its own Charter and its Article 531 says that ‘the haircut, mustaches and beard of the serviceman has to be tidy’ - meaning the beard is allowed to the sailors and marines.
In real life it mostly depends on a command of the unit. In Far North beards are usually tolerated because they help to avoid frostbites.
If the serviceman has scars on the face or medical conditions preventing shaving the command would most likely allow the beard.
In other units there might be zero tolerance. There are even instances of women reprimanded under Article 344 for unshaved legs".

Mobile phones are not allowed on active service, I believe.

And I await your quote of a post showing me critical of Ukraine. Zelenskyy yes,but Ukraine and it's citizens no.

Becuase it's massive, impossible to hold and would result in the destruction of humanity?
While a valid point on the size of it, it is largely unpopulated and vast areas of nothingness, with inadequate agricultural or infrastructure to support a civilian population. So if NATO felt it beneficial, from a Geo Political, logistical and military point of view, would its "size" be that much of an issue a it would target useful locations.

Are we really convinced that a Nuclear option is on the table for Putin, or is it an element of media pushing that narrative? Due to MAD being an outcome there really is no positive outcome from any Nuclear option so why would that even be considered?

I'm not advocating it by the way, just genuinely curious and I know that NATO is really not about causing conflict, rather preventing it, so would not make a whole lot of sense but given shall we say, the Wests proclivity to anti communism, it would seem to make sense?

Having said all this the Wests approach to "regime" change has been a huge issue and I can see why NATO would not want to be part of this unless provoked by Russia, so is this an opportunity to exert that authority over Russia or are we best hoping for a largely stable Russia with no West interference and the end of people like Putin?

I have seen many instances of these situations in my time and as I have aged I have become increasingly more interested and aware that often there is more to situations, that we as mere mortals, arent privy to and as I've said previously I would rather ask and look foolish or be shot down in flames or maybe even once or twice right in my assertion or assumption in the hope that it gives me better understanding.
