I've brained the game here, recently - my fiance's parents give us jarred foods they've made, while I give them some that my grandparents have made lolFather in law does it all the time, pickled tomatoes, pickled cucumbers, leche (tomato and red peppers) all jarred and given to us all the time same with Jam and spoke puree, basically think it's a leftover from making maximum use out if everything you grow or buy at huge savings for the season but won't store well without canning/bottling.
Saying that I'm getting revenge this year as I've pickled shedloads of beetroot just to annoy him by giving him some every few weeks, did eggs tooas neither are done here ever
