Puttin is fighting against western expansion. He has multiple usa military basis strategically placed around his country. This is Ukraine and Russia affair. I am against the terrany of NATO and USA in particular. I am against russias domestic and foreign system of politics. But if they are stopping American and NATO expansionism. That is a good thing in the short term.

I am not saying that at all, what I am saying is that if the alternative to the GOP really is going to do that, for domestic political concerns (and a misread of those concerns at that) despite what has been done then they’ll deserve to get bashed.

Isn't one of your flimsy reasons for leaving the EU the creation of this make believe EU army. The one you fear would antagonise Russia? Swap EU with NATO and it's the same argument.

No flimsy reasons from me. I said that the EU would expand into Ukraine and that’s precisely what was happening, membership of NATO then tends to follow east European countries. What I got wrong was the timing. When Russia took over Crimea, who negotiated the Minsk agreement with Ukraine, well none other than Russia, Germany and France.….
