There must be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Russians with Ukrainian descent, especially of course in the west / south-west. If dissent really kicks off within Russia that's a lot of people who could represent a major fifth column to Vlad's regime.

Probably closer to 4/5m, a large proportion of those will be in Moscow and it's Oblasts, the number I think pre February was around 4m a fair few migrant workers left after war broke out but then a lot of ethnic Russians fled into Russia from the Donbass (mainly) and some other areas also.

The number of Ethnic Russians entering from Ukraine has steadily risen since 2014 when they started getting bombed by the Ukranianian army in the defacto civil war.

Funnily enough lost in history on WW2 is after the Germans went into Czechoslovakia in 1938, Polsnd used it as an opportunity to seize part of Czechoslovakia too. In fact Poland was constantly from the end of the secibd works war involved in border disputes and conflicts to expand it's territory.

They even fought with Ukraine during that period trying to seize territory which had a significant ethnic polish population.

Just pointed out a historical fact that I'm guessing very few people knew about Poland effectively doing to Czechoslovakia what was done to them a year later by Germany and the Soviet Union.

As I said history is written through the eyes of the victor - the allies where the victors, Poland was an allied country.
