There has to urgently be repercussions for ordinary Russians, it’s the only way to get the populace to turn against him. e.g. thousands of Russian holidaymakers or residents currently in the UK, EU and around the world need to be expelled immediately.

We should drop them off in Kiev.

Not really obliterating. Russia has killed thousands of civilians in Syria + they have the Wagner Group committing massacres all over the place. Imo both as bad as each other.

US troops in Japan are not under NATO command, because it is not a NATO deployment.

US foreign policy (and military posture) in the far East is a totally separate consideration to US involvement in NATO.

The initial fear for a conflict was (and still is in theory) that if Russia invades, then the West could snatch at least a little bit of Western Ukraine from being invaded, entering from Polish border... but even that is not happening.

Russia is gonna annex every inch of Ukraine. ?
