Russia wouldn't be that stupid. An attack on the cables would allow a cyber response, and we (US, UK etc.) have the same or better capabilities as them.

TBF attacking cables is probably a military response, certainly against him (given who would trust him that it wasn’t part of an escalation?).

Yup - OSINT channels have been trying to confirm - the giveaway is the reactive side armour plates on the tanks. Ukraine doesn't have them and these tanks do ergo they must be Russian. There are also apparently some videos floating about of the actual drone strike itself.
