No I don’t wish them well. I wish they get turned around and pushed out of Ukraine. The Putin crowd who wanted this and those that did unspeakable acts together with the Chechens who volunteered to invade I would happily shoot myself.….
Thing is,theses halfwits are talking about your average Russian "squaddie" that they want to be tortured and shot if they surrender. Not Putin, his mob or the Chechen murder squads.

US House of Representatives just authorised $100million from the USAF defence budget to be allocated to training Ukranian pilots on US aircraft.

Looks like the first step in Ukraine getting F-16 and A-10’s
I know these guys are pilots already, but I’d imagine it’ll still take many months to get this “off the ground” so to speak

They aren’t getting turned around any time soon, next best option… defeat them. Sad but true

Quoting the paras as an example of exemplary decency and integrity is not a good choice. They truly are the kopites of the British forces.
The Paras have a reputation - some of it good, other bits bad (I'm perhaps being lenient there).

But, while not defending certain actions, I've found that the nature of war and effective armed forces can or does cause such conflicts of morality and interests.

Elite units require a combination of training, ingenuity and aggression; while discipline is still pivotal, you'll find some of the former will diminish the latter.

The issue at hand is finding the balance as some of the most effective troops, due to their aggression and other traits, can be bordering towards indiscipline.

The Paras never served out in Iraq (Granby in '91), but they were meant to be deployed. Before they did, they caused chaos in Liverpool wanting to scrap.

In essence, great fighting infantry, but they're teetering close to their controversial nature. Colchester faces the brunt of it all the time.

Do not believe all you hear from the BBC.…..
Let's be honest Pete, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't true.

Perhaps, but I thought I read that film used by the BBC was actually of Australian SAS……may be wrong though….
