2025/26 Tyrique George

You could realistically say the same thing about any young kid at a new club.

The lad looks exciting, he has pace, he's direct, and can play numerous positions. Sometimes you have to take a punt, grab it while you can.
Of course you could, and loads of them will turn out to be rubbish so the point stands. I thought he showed some nice flashes and I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be a quality player. On the flip side, I wouldn’t say I was necessarily blown away by him and purely based on what we saw I wouldn’t be gutted if we didn’t go and spend proper money on him. Whether I’d feel differently if we’d seen more of him is obviously a different question.

I agree. He looked exciting and often one of the best players when he came off the bench, but sometimes he'd just overplay it and lose it. Think it was the derby when he and Barry came on was it, where he had a poor game?

Yeah, they were both poor that day. George is exactly what you'd expect from a young, talented player that's came through an academy like Chelsea's. There's plenty of them who look like they have a spark but end up not quite making it at the top level.

I just haven't seen enough to say I think it's worth spending a decent amount of money on him.

He definitely had a bit of flair about him. I'm just not convinced it transforms into goals and assists which is what this team is crying out for.
He was making chances, not scared to shoot when he saw a chance. he does everything you want in that kind of player, how far he takes it, we don't know. But every time you look for a reason why not to grab the chance, you're never going to find what you're looking for, And Sooner or later you'll be cursing yourself for it.

See you're just finding a way to turn your nose up at an opportunity.
If you don't take the risk you'll never reap the reward.

Moyes has played two of the youngest PL scorers of all time, Rooney and Vaughan.

Some steadfast koresh vibes about this history rewrite.
I’m not sure if older Moyes hasn’t become more stubborn and less likely to gamble on a young-un than Moyes of 20 years ago. It’s been a very odd season in terms of his decision making. Just generally baffling the majority of the time.

I think I'm looking for Dibling to develop and probably bring in someone else that gives a better guarantee of goals and assists.

But using your own logic you could say that about any young player? Why sign George for £25m when we could sign some other young kid for £8m? Why are you so scared of taking that risk mate? Why are you turning your nose up at all the other young lads?

when we've won the noise has been minimised.
when we've drawn the mob have been out.
when we've lost it's all on him.

it's all been 20 20 hindsight. I understand people need someone to blame. fair enough. bin him, get someone else in, when they fail, I get to 20 20 hindsight bin the noisy ones this time round.

that's what's required, a thinning of the ranks in the martinez and benitez believers. some very loud clowns with no self awareness. (not an accusation against you).

There can be no room in the plan for hoping Dibling develops. Anything from that lad should be a bonus.

I would hope that's not the attitude inside the club, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Terrifying how much we are intent on doing ourselves over. 2nd biggest signing in the club's entire history.

Oh yeah, of course on Dibling, but George wouldn't effect that at all, they both play totally different games.

George and Dibling are like the younger alternatives to Jack and Illy.

I want to see players that get me off my seat, go against the grain of the modern day structured play. Whether it's George or not, I just want that kind of young lad who is always looking forward.
