…..looking back at a few posts after the Derby;
So he came on as a sub in the derby and had a bad game is that it ? I mean he's came on quite a few games and done well, created things, should we ignore that ? I know none of them comments are you, in fact it you look hard enough I've probably said similar about him. But if you have me a,straight choice between George or McNeil is probably say George, but it doesn't mean he's the right choice. The criticism should be at the recruitment team, who most of them Moyes hardly plays. It's just kneejerking, especially in a derby where we have been beaten, everyone's upset. But let's not give that a stick to beat George with.
After a Derby, what did you expect. He got thrown in to the wolves with not much Idea of what was asked of him.
Than again that's only a few posters, bad games will always happen and if you can't give time for a young kid that's only had brief cameos than there's no hope.
It's excuses after excuses of why we can't or shouldn't do these things.
….i also think he’s been underused, I particularly like footballers who ‘hit a heavy ball’ and he ‘hits a heavy ball’. We’ve had far too many players who struggle to strike a ball cleanly.
I just thought it worth posting some of the post-Derby responses as I remember the feeling after that game. To be fair, it was a disappointing cameo in a game where he genuinely could’ve made a difference, especially with Jones at RB.
Be interesting what the club decides, I don’t have a particularly strong view but the fact we’ve been linked with a couple of wingers might be telling.
