And if we lived in common sense world I'd agree with you 1000%. But we don't.
TG is at the age where he probably needs to play every week if he's going to have a chance at a career, not sit on the bench every week, hoping for 10 mins here and there. Same as Aznou. Same as Dibling. Same as Harrison. And probably not a million miles off the Braiden Graham kid.
Somewhere like Palace who seem the epitomy of 12th place every year would be the perfect move for him so he can play every week, instead of sitting on the bench here or at Chelsea, twidling his thumbs, but enjoying his paycheque. Depends what he wants I suppose.
Just don't see it quite the same way when there's a very strong correlation between big minutes as a youngster shortening careers generally speaking.
George in a rotation role for a season behind
Grealish/
Ndiaye could very easily be better for his career and development than being thrust into a starting role he may not be ready for at another club, which would in turn set him back in his career.
Aznou is a pretty good example of this, he comes to us in the hope of more mins and competing for a starter role - he probably would've been better off staying the course at Bayern and now he's in a limbo.
The youngsters who go searching for mins at all costs often damage their own careers trying to get too much to fast. It might commendable that they're willing to take a step down to play football, but it is often to their own detriment.
If the manager likes TG and we want to sign him, we're probably a lot safer of a bet than going to Palace type club.
