2025/26 Tyler Dibling

He really is just a token sub to make up the numbers. We'd need to be about 5 up with 10 to go to see him get any minutes.

I'm actually dreading the summer recruitment
I think a lot of the "optimism" in that other thread is going to evaporate if the same people are recruiting and "having the final say" on this summer's business. KDH was the one and only clear success of the summer. Alcaraz, Dibling, Röhl, Aznou, and Barry all failed. We don't know why the first four got so little time, but we have seen enough of Barry to know that's never working out in a million years. Grealish was cursed.

Are we really imagining things will be different if these same people - Kinnear and Moyes - are overseeing things again this summer? Are these new backroom boys who were brought in since the gamechangers?

I'd be very nervous about this summer. The hit rate is far lower than Angus's patented failure rate suggests...

I think you've got to delay the judgements on those four, Alcaraz was obviously bought as a back up player, he has his uses and has been a little unlucky with injury, there's clearly going to be a CM position free quite soon and it'll be good for Rohl to have been about, and I don't remember anyone describing Aznou as anything other than a signing for the future. He also didn't cost very much. All of them might succeed in the medium/long term.

Dibling is the one that you would have expected to play a bigger part so far this season but when he has played he simply hasn't been good enough. It's not at get rid stage, we need to find a way to get him playing well. I think that's far more complex than just throwing him in for a run of games.

Random fun Dibling fact - in his extremely limited minutes this season, he's in the top 1% of attacking mids/wingers for dribbles, top 7% for ball recoveries, top 19% for combined tackles and interceptions

Doesn't work hard enough doe and can't go past his man doe!!

Elevated stats from very small sample sizes should never be posted online.
