2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Don’t think anyone would be shocked if he’s just sold in the summer.
Who'd want him for anything near what we paid and on the wages we offer him?

We have broken him by playing a style with which he will struggle, not giving him enough even 20min chances to adapt and wreaking what little confidence the boy had.

Of course it's his fault for not being a hairy chested, shouty thug.

Moyes needs to make a decision in the summer. He did talk about him having a full preseason, but I'm not sure we're in a position where we can treat a £35 million signing like he's making his way up from the youth team. If he doesn't fancy him we should cut our losses and get someone he does want.

It's our style that prevented him from doing anything at all with any of the chances he's had, is it? Nothing to do with him?

He'll be all right in the end I'm sure, but even with two minutes yesterday he managed to show why he hasn't been getting on.

I really don't get the urgency at the moment. 2 things could be true at the same time - Moyes is right not to play him as he's not doing enough to be in the team, and he's only 19 and a human being and might need time to bed into his new club and senior football in general. There is no immediate urgency to decide whether to sell him or not.
We will know better at the end of the summer after hopefully a full pre season

If he's to be playing first team football here one of two things has to happen:

1/ another manager arrives and plays to strengths that he sees and creates a position for him in a different way of playing to Moyes

2/ he shows that he's a defender first and attacker second in training to convince Moyes he can slot him into the team to get behind the ball and press and get on the ball to carry an attacking threat.

The latter is a tough ask of a 19 year old lad who's no doubt always been told to just get on the ball and express himself. It's a massive culture shock to him playing style wise, and apparently he's also having difficulty transitioning to life in this part of the world - which will be adding to his woes.

We have to be careful with him and nurture that talent he has. It'll be a big failure for this club if we just get shut of him and reinvest in another player. That would be the best signalling from us to other young talent out there we'd be looking to try and bring in. That goes for Aznou too.
