2025/26 Tyler Dibling

By showing something in training.

Armstrong and George, both very young players, have come straight into the side ahead of Dibling.
They did.

Now explain how Gana got off a plane after being absent for weeks and weeks the day before a league game and got straight into the starting 11 who had just beaten Aston Villa away and why one of those midfielders who was arguably mom (Rohl) hasn’t had a single second of game time since? Is it because his training levels have dropped? Presumably Moyes had excellent feedback from the Senegal coaching staff to tell him just how well Gana was training while in Africa?

How about Patterson, who did fine enough on a few match days and has been binned for a CB again? Have his training levels dropped?

When you read reports about how he is as a person and perhaps needing time to bed in to a club and new environment, it was very poor for the recruitment team to not get the deal done as early as possible in the summer to allow him that time to get used to the club and the environment. I know that this isn't always possible but by leaving it so late, even if that was the only way to get him, was going to be a struggle.

So he’s gone from not picking youngster to just picking them out of a hat?

I do actually agree with your points made on all of the other selection choices mentioned above.

With this being the Dibling thread I’ll just bring it back to that - I don’t think he’s good enough - yet.

He’s still so young and there will be opportunities for him, think a loan would benefit him playing week in week out. Ideally in Europe like Jarrad had..

My point on Dibling is really that he looks a different player than for Southampton & England youth.

Also that hes not been given a run & he seems to slow the play down like Grealish on the other side. Something ive not seen him do before.

Yet Moyes comments on Dibling make no sense at all.

When we take that all and mix it up, its pretty similar to numerous other players.

Tyler sooner or later has to start playing. So, why not at home when you are both a goal and a player down and you need something different? DM is so exasperating. He prefers to play a midfielder on the wing rather than a bloke he spent 40 million on six months ago.

Its absolute madness.

He should have been getting gradually introduced into the 11 to have him ready for when Ndiaye went to AFCON.

Instead this manager used McNeil over him and then was about to sell McNeil in the window.

The utter stupidity of Moyes.

Hard to get assists when you’re playing for the worst side the league has ever seen

His all round play and ball carrying ability was very good

Well he was part of it!

Personally thought he showed real flashes of great play, but faded into anonymity as the season went on. We paid a lot of money for a player that doesn’t have a position for me.

He won't play under Moyes the same as Aznou. If Moyes stays next season they both should ask to leave for the good of their careers

The first Subs with Armstrong unbalanced the team think he should have moved Ndiaye to the left as he wasnt getting much change out of the left back who looks a good player and put Tyler on the right , Armstrong was moving central when he came on left a wide open space on the left not his fault but it looked a poor decision on Moyes part

I actually find those reports in the media of being "shy" mate very unhelpful in the main, all 19 year old's are shy to an extent growing into their identities - those who have front are over compensating at 19.

I think its really unhelpful talking about his developing character and identity in public - id be a big Moyes fan boy, but i think he was wrong there. Can only imagine its unhelpful for the lad in general and the goal of trying to help him reach his potential.

The lad is now stereotyped...Labelling Theory is a real thing.

What are you talking about? It’s a thread about Tyler Dibling.

Lads his own age in similar positions are getting games, he’s not.

He’s also looked very timid and, frankly, crap in the cameos we’ve seen.

The other questions around squad selection I agree with but they look to be a case of Moyes picking tried and tested favourites in positions… Armstrong and George playing ahead of Dibling is not the same thing.
