2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Every single player on the pitch looked terrified to play a forward ball. Every single one was turning down simple five yard forward balls. Dibling just looks terrified of losing the ball.
Which he did regularly
He drifted inside for a brief minute early in 2nd half and looked more comfortable than trying to be an outright winger. He doesn't seem to have the pace to play out wide

He was very poor today but equally he looks a 100% a confidence player. Big price tag, few starts and he looks like he is devoid of confidence.

Shame as last season he looked the real deal…now he looks terrified to take a man on and try and beat him incase he loses the ball

Think we should try him as a 10 now there is little to play for. Developing one of our most expensive assets over the rest of the games would be a little bit of good news from another cr*p season.

He's never shown he had pace though so I'm not sure why people are expecting him to be lightning and whizz past people on the outside

He's Grealish, but on the right.
Nobody is saying he’s rapid but he doesn’t even break into a jog when the touchline is wide open.

Just stands there farting round with it before playing it back or getting tackled.

He's never going to be a chalk on the boots, beat a man and get to the byline winger.....

He's very much in the grealish mould...

What he does have to do however is take some responsibility, demand the ball, look to make things happen
...

It won't come.off every time but the crowd Will buy into it instead of the current disinterested pass the ball back to sender football we're currently getting from him

This didn’t reply the way I thought it would look. This is in reply to what I said about Dibling and what I see as his bad habits.

- Tyler routinely draws two or three defenders. Unlike Ndiaye, who can split them and charge goal, Tyler loses possession quite often. Then pouts.

- Tyler is blessed with speed. Jack is not. Jack holds up play to the detriment of our scoring chances. Tyler is much faster but resorts to holding up. He lacks Jack’s skills and thus he loses possession.

- His vibe is lack of confidence and lack of aggression. The contrast to him and Armstrong and Aznou is glaring. That’s the burst and aggressiveness to expect. They look hungry. Tyler and Barry have that sad vibe that things will never go well. They’re like Eeyore.
Time to bring out the bleep test..

As I saw earlier, he’s Grealish on the right and I agree. We don’t need that. When challenged, he rarely looks to drive towards the box like Ndiaye. There’s a force field there. When you have someone like Ndiaye on the wing, why would you ever play a guy like Dibling? If we had a player like Ndiaye on the left, I’d ask why you’d ever play Grealish. Bringing play to a grinding halt and only seeing yourself as a winger capable of shooting at goal twice a season and being just an assist man is so limiting and holds us back.

I think looking back the warning signs were there when he came on for his debut against Mansfield and literally refused to pass the ball forward or take on a man. He just passed 5 yards square the whole time he was on and barely moved. I defended him quite strongly back then hoping it was just him trying to manage a game situation. But it seems this is just how he plays. Call it bad habits if you like, but he offers absolutely nothing going forward and doesn't work hard for the team either.

He probably needs to be coached better of course, but he also needs to have a look at himself and ask why he isn't doing more.
