2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Hard to find any positives in his performance today. But it’s not his fault we blew most of our summer transfer budget on him. I don’t understand the ‘fans’ around me today who were getting on his back all game. He’s a kid who is learning and probably won’t peak for another 4-5 years. Direct your anger at the recruitment team.

I mean 2 goals and 1 assist in the league last season doesn't scream out playmaker does it?

Moyes hasn't got a clue what to do with him so is hoping beyond hope he does something whilst being stuck out on the wing and the grand sum total we've had is one ball across against Burnley which Beto done his best to miss.

The lad doesnt look like he wants to get into positions to assist or score. As soon as he lays it off, he stands rooted to the spot admiring his pass. There's no movement, no thought what to do next.

He's not what we need and we certainly aren't what he needed as we demand more than 1 flick of the fringe per game.

'What bad habits'?

Getting the ball and beating players causing mayhem?

This didn’t reply the way I thought it would look. This is in reply to what I said about Dibling and what I see as his bad habits.

- Tyler routinely draws two or three defenders. Unlike Ndiaye, who can split them and charge goal, Tyler loses possession quite often. Then pouts.

- Tyler is blessed with speed. Jack is not. Jack holds up play to the detriment of our scoring chances. Tyler is much faster but resorts to holding up. He lacks Jack’s skills and thus he loses possession.

- His vibe is lack of confidence and lack of aggression. The contrast to him and Armstrong and Aznou is glaring. That’s the burst and aggressiveness to expect. They look hungry. Tyler and Barry have that sad vibe that things will never go well. They’re like Eeyore.

….at this point in time, McNeil offers more than Dibling.

It’s not a very high bar and it’s an unpopular opinion but that’s the reality ;)
Dibling offers the possibility that every game he plays could be a massive improvement on his previous.

You can't say the same for McNeil who offers precisely nothing.

Just say you don't like the cut of the boys jib eggs, it's exceedingly obvious that's been the case since he signed.

The problem I have with him is he just doesn't look bothered when given the chance. Yes he is young but he played a full season in the prem last season with Southampton. Armstrong has barely any prem experience and is younger and has shown a lot more in a couple of games than Dibling. I have no problem him not being the finished article yet but he is absolutely no where near ready and he cost us a lot of money. Very poor recruitment.
