2025/26 Tyler Dibling

The idea he should just play because he's our big signing is wrong. He doesn't look like he's at the levels required.

I get that he's a young lad and needs time but while he's turning in performances like today he shouldn't be on the pitch unless it's a case of absolute needs must.
Not sure when and why he will suddenly be ready, or why he needs time. 1874 PL minutes last season. 33 appearances. KDH and Grealish had less than 1000 combined (I know they obviously have a back catalogue of experience, just an interesting stat).

It’s weird.

What do we think is going to happen with time? What do we think is going to happen the more we play him? Is he going to become “ready” and confident just from being at FF with Seamus cuddling him?

There are plenty of super talented footballers and sportspeople that have middling to poor careers because they just don’t have “it”.

He doesn’t need more time. He’s just less than advertised. I don’t see his ceiling going much higher. His bad habits are too ingrained. Same with Rohl. Armstrong is younger than them both and looks light years better. And the small cameo from Aznou was way better and more memorable for all the disappearing acts from Rohl and Dibling. It’s like watching Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom 2.0.

'What bad habits'?

Getting the ball and beating players causing mayhem?

Decent PL defenders close him down and his defensive abilities need work, see ball-watching with the goal today rather than staying with his man. Will he get better? We have to hope our coaching is enough to improve him.
