2025/26 Tyler Dibling

but in the end who cares if he prefers a quiet evening in with a book and a cup of chocolate, if he tears it up on the pitch...
The last sentence sums up the issues though, despite making 30 prem appearance last season, including running rings round us, something is preventing Moyes from giving him minutes.
That might just be Moyes, it might be something else, but personally I don’t see it being good for his development or the teams given how much of our available funds we spend on a professional footballer who can’t get on the pitch for some reason.

Let’s remember when he signed Dibling said: “I think I’ve come to Everton at the perfect time and hopefully I can be here for many years. [The Brighton win] gave me a feel for the club. It looked unbelievable.

“I also played in the last Men’s game at Goodison. It was so loud. I was looking around and thinking, ‘This is quality’. That was a really good insight for me into what it’s like here with the fans and the atmosphere they can create.

“There’s no better feeling than when you’re doing well in football, and to feel that love from the fans is one of the best feelings ever. I’m excited to play here.”

Introverted doesn’t have to equate to a lack of confidence.

Yeah again this tallies exactly with what was said about him at Southampton. Very very quiet off the pitch, totally fearless and confident in his abilities on it.

Earlier in the season I thought it was just that he had to learn his defensive responsibilities too, having been at a team that was useless in that department, and Moyes was waiting til that was a bit more sorted. Which was fair enough. Maybe it is still just that.

…..I’m sure we’d all love him to be involved, especially Moyes but why he’s not playing is the point.
Because Moyes is too risk adverse when it comes to young players, remember him Protecting Rooney then sold him and Rooney scored a hat trick on his United debut in the champions legue.. Get young lads out there some are more than capable.

….i just find it totally illogical that if Moyes has a top player capable of positively impacting football matches then he’s not using him because he’s ’risk averse’.

Moyes sanctioned the deal, he clearly rates the lad. None of us know what’s happening but folk seem convinced it’s all down to Moyes, I just wonder if it’s something else.

I get what you're saying, and it seems strange from the outside, but there are absolutely countless examples of managers not playing players, then another manager comes in and does OR they get an enforced chance through injury and they absolutely smash it. Happens all the time.

Logically, managers see the players in training every day and play good players. Practically, it simply does not turn out exactly like that.

Every one associated to the club wants him to be a success. Manager, fans, players, every one.

For what I’ve seen of him, for me he’d be better centrally in the 10, as a wide player, in today’s world you need a burst of pace, he isn’t slow, but neither is he rapid.

Well, Dibbling looked like a 100 million pound player when I saw him play regularly for Southampton last year on the right wing
i don't think even the southampton fans would go that far mate 🤣 . Take a look at a Saints forum -- plenty on there saying he was never worth £40 million.

"I thought he looked massively unfit last season - on a level I haven’t seen before in the EPL. And it’s incredible that Everton have coughed up £40m."
"As much as he showed flashes of brilliance he struggled to properly make an impact at Prem level."
"Lets be honest he was never worth 40 million. I never thought he was even in the summer."
"Said last season that there have been far more talented players than Dibling who haven't made in it the game due to mentality and I think Dibling's lacking that mentality and drive that the top athletes have."

tbf we said DCL was cack and Leeds would regret signing him and yeah he's had some shocking misses however he's still scored a few goals for Leeds

i'd take saints fans comments with a pinch of salt

….a little surprised he’s not playing the odd game for the U21s, maybe another sign that he’s struggling. Looking like he’ll be back-up to McNeil in a few weeks so might get a few more opportunities from the bench.
U21's has come down to lack of minutes, Carsley always backed him, and you could see the lads around him had full confidence giving him the ball.

When you look at that squad they have, it is pretty damn impressive
and that's including the bench.

Yes, you could say it is only u21's, but his name was on that team sheet until lack of gametime. Which is natural.

Everything written/said about him at Southampton said he was exactly the same there though. He's just a very quiet kid. He could be entirely nonverbal for all I care lol
An introvert off the pitch can be an extrovert on the pitch.
The field is his freedom, that's where he can express himself..

Exactly, he’s not getting England u21 minutes because he’s not getting Everton minutes.
