2025/26 Tyler Dibling

That McNeil played well is something we fundamentally disagree on.

Also, after the last few years of supporting this club, how anybody can think “proven PL experience” means even remotely what they think it does is madness to me. We have thrown so much progress away on the altar of players who “know the league” it’s pathetic.

Bournemouth were utterly toothless. We had the better, more productive possession but our final third choices and execution were horrible. Give me a raw 19yo with instructions to run at knackered defenders over McNeil - who, by the way also looks utterly bereft of any confidence - any day of the week.
Based on yesterday's game alone it's a really fine judgement call as to whether to bring on McNeil or Dibling.
Moyes clearly prefers an experienced player who he trusts to be better positionally and tactically than a raw but talented teenager.
Moyes ix completely vindicated ( on this occasion).by the result

BTW I happen to think McNeil is finished but Moyes knows way more about football than me.

Didn't you know that there are a lot of top quality football managers on GOT. I don't know why they don't join forces and set up a 'Top Football Managers' Academy'. They'd make a fortune and all of its graduates would win every league in Europe. It would be like going to Oxford.

I can't stand when people post what they say the team should be on X. Like they're even qualified on being a manager or know what they see at training every day.

I think people are reacting to the fact that you’ve chosen this moment to get annoyed about Dibling’s lack of minutes.

1-0 up away from home, Moyes decided to bring on McNeil, who is a much more experienced premier league player, to defend the lead. We successfully defended the lead, took the 3 points, and McNeil played fairly well.

Yes, Tyler Dibling is one of our most expensive signings ever but he's also only 19 and hasn't looked like a £40 million player in his cameos so far. If, as a lot of people are speculating on here, Dibling is also struggling a bit for confidence, then this would have been quite a strange game and moment to bring him on in.
Well, Dibling looked like a 100 million pound player when I saw him play regularly for Southampton last year on the right wing

Did he? Perhaps in the second worst ever premier league team, it isn’t too hard to stand out.

He was also dropped towards the back end of their season.. so we could draw a completely different opinion from that..

I would bet he’s never near to a 100m player, why did we face zero competition for his signing.

His agent was just briefing media outlets, no one else was serious for him.

If he turned out to be a Dwight McNeil (a competent premier league player) that would be a positive start.

People think he’s going to start when AFCON comes are going to be disappointed, it will be Dwight.

Be miles better than McNeil

You dont seem to be aware that Spurs bid for him in January and other overseas clubs did as well.

This is why Southampton put a £100mil price on him. This is also why the media when discussing him suggested Southampton would continue to reject bids unless they were very high - because of his potential which well known in the game.

Certainly seems like you've never seen him play before. Quite happy to stretch the truth though.

He wasn't just standing out in that team. He was standing out in the league. Do you understand how ridiculous it is to do what he was doing, age 18, first senior season, in the premier league, on one of the worst teams of all time?

The kid is a great player. It annoys me that Moyes is being so cautious with him, but barring some major mental or physical issues, I am extremely confident he'll be incredible for us. He needs to develop a lot though (which, again, is why it's annoying me he's not getting playtime).

This is Moyes though, he even had Rooney on the bench at times, when he was our best player, played barkely twice and when he made a mistake, we never seen him again under Moyes.
Moyes isn’t the manager for Dibling
