2025/26 Tyler Dibling

I think we had and have one of the oldest squads in the PL in the summer and needed to bring that down and have a medium term view in some players.

Should we aspire to spend 35 million on young players who can’t get in the team, absolutely , dream land stuff.

I honestly can’t fathom how people can complain about Harrison, Lindstrom being replaced by Grealish and Dibbling
. Would you have preferred to get Harrison in on another loan - he prob would have played more mins then Tyler has, so by your premise of mins and value, we should of signed him ahead of Tyler.
Mate that's not what's happening here.

It's asking why have we spent such a large portion of our budget on a player we aren't playing?

If we have European ambitions surely spending the money on a player who would play more than 100 or so minutes by December might have been a better choice.

Agreed. We should have bought some journeymen instead. I'm sure Gazza and Ginola are still alive.

This year we are fine.

Let's stop paying money for 'dead' players.

Jack Harrison played 24 games for us last season, should we have signed. him for Dibling. He also would be better value.

We had a 20 million clause in Lindstrom contract, by your premise, both are better deals for us then Dibling.

I think you need to get over the fee, 30+ mill is at a low standard for an attacking player certainly a young one, there is no need to be wowed.

You also assume he was brought in as a starter this season given the wow factor for you on the fee, I don’t think that was the plan at all.

Bakayoko, Conceicao, Kubo, Fofana

Thanks!

Clearly Conceicao was always staying where he was on loan & Kubo was an odd one.

Bakayoko seemed to have his plan setup already as that deal was done quickly and we apparently didnt speak to Fofanas agent (or any of the others agents!) before making an approach.

Mate what are you even trying to say with this? It makes no sense at all, I can't workout what point you thought this was proving.

Yes, I assume that the largest outlay of our transfer window would lead to a player starting games for us or at the very least a player that we can see coming off of the bench. Whatever the reason for it is, Dibling appears to be doing neither.

Should he not be able to come off the bench for them though?
Oh yeah, 100% with that. We all want to see it.
I'm just not writing the lad off, or accepting he was a bad signing.

If grealish goes back, we will have had him for a season to settle. Hopefully he gets eased in over coming months and next season we see it all pay off..

I am not writing him off. I just want to see him play more minutes and show us how good he is.

This is my only complaint with the deal is that he isn't being used. I blame Moyes and his caution rather than thinking he's not good enough for a sub appearance.

It’s presenting tangibility of your premise mate - you say we’d be better off with a player playing I made the point on Harrison Vs Dibling, for illustrative purposes to disprove your arguement. Thought that was obvious.

The largest out lay of our budget all in, in terms of value is Grealish mate. In fact I think both are linked. Grealish is in first the year, to give Tyler a chance to bed in and get another year in around Senior football, while learning from Illy and and understudying . Those three are a total leap in quality to were we have been, so find the critisim odd.

The problem here is own learned assumption ultimately mate, you assume 30 mill + is a significant a,punt of money in the transfer market - it’s not really, while you also assume that said fee ultimately means someone starts - reality is proving both assumption flawed.

Its got nothing to do with the cost for me, I just want to see the lad give us a sparkle of what's to come.

He's got the potential to make this a happy thread to visit.

But yeah, he needs to be allowed to show us.

Funny that because he stood out in the hardest league in the world in his first ever season playing senior football aged 18. He's probably sound thanks.
As said in my comment, i hope the observation/comment is way out of the mark. Im just passing on what was discussed with a friend who is highly connected within the game. Thanks

I love a post that starts with "hope this is wrong" which loosely translates to don't bother reading,it's all complete Bumgas.
Totally incorrect. Im passing on what was discussed and commented on by a highly connected friend in the game. When i say i hope this is wrong, its because when i say the kid play against Palace he was so bad he got hauled of at half time, and i,d rather not see Everton sqaunder another 40 million.
If your going to throw insults at people that are sharing information from people in the game, positive or negative, it no wonder people just keep things to themselves
