2025/26 Tyler Dibling

I didn't like the comment by Moyes at all that the money spent on Dibling "isnt a big amount compared to what you see other PL teams pay".

We've basically gone 3/4/5 years of barely spending anything so every signing is a massive deal for us, especially anything over the 25m mark.

I thought it was really poor from Moyes and not the right attitude to have.

I don't think we can afford to have 35m players sitting on the bench

Its Moyes being Moyes.

Probably a nudge to TFG to let him spend more in Jan - hes also alluded to wanting to spend more.

Won’t ever be trusted under Moyes will come on leaps and bounds with a better more forward thinking manager

I think he’s the type of player that needs regular games to find his rhythm and his form. Coming off the bench won’t suit him.

Everton can’t give that to young players apparently though in case they make a mistake meanwhile Keane Idrissa Gueye Dewsbury Hall Tarkowski Mykolenko get game after game after game no matter what.

The very few appearances from Dibling and Rohl have more than convinced me they need to see the pitch every match. It doesn’t necessarily mean as a starter, but occasionally as one and regular sub appearances. Such a waste and we’re not developing talent. Training is vastly different than match play and they’re not growing.

You could see him bristling from the question too

He’s our second biggest ever transfer fee isn’t he?

I agree with you, I’d rather he said that the positions Dibling plays in are currently occupied by our best players, meaning it might take a bit longer for him to get regular time in one of them.

There's no way he was not involved, it doesn't fit moyes established MO. I know there were reports and rumors that supposedly he was very intent on signing Dibling , thought he was a rare generational talent especially how much time we spent negotiating his fee. If Moyes wasn't interested you would think that lengthy process of trying to find an agreement with Southampton would of been shut down
I just can't work it out.

If he's involved and signed off then he's either made two very expensive mistakes with his limited budget (not outside the realm of possibility, the lads are far less ready than he was led to believe, or he never wanted them in the first place but was desperate for bodies.

To be fair, if the media links were anything to go by, he was like our 5th choice right winger
It was a really long drawn out thing to get him signed. Surely if there were any doubts about him being able to have any impact at all in the first half of the season we might have moved on?
