I would prefer McAtee
But I don’t think the issue was the valuation, we don’t seem to be concerned with a £40m fee ,or we would have disengaged from Dibling days ago .
I think McAtee prefers a move elsewhere, (Dortmund seems most likely from what I’ve read .)

Pretty sure he won't but he's still under contract so Southampton can keep him this summer if they want.

But point is by next summer he’ll only have 1 year left and that will reduce his fee massively.

If its a club option then the lads got two years left so they'll be willing to gamble they come back up and can either convince him to stay or still get a decent fee in 12 months time...

It does, but it also depends if we think the reported figure is genuine or posturing.

Personally, I think his agent will be in Southamptons ear asking them to keep options open. I suspect 50m - but structured more favourable to Southampton, probably gets it done.
