TV Series

They’ve done a film of one of the books, with Michael Fasbender as Harry Hole, it was surprisingly poor and flooped.
Read an article about the making of that film ,(The Snowman) and it sounds shambolic. Some of it was shot in Norway and some in England, not everyone was available at the right times and apparently the ending was cobbled together with whatever footage they had left. Massive letdown as the books are pretty decent

Having seen the film and read nearly all the Harry Hole books, I can only agree with you.

The film was a mess and a massive let down.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Despite it being much slower than Game of Thrones, I really enjoyed it.

The jousting scene was immense and very Game of Thrones.

My only gripes would be that at six episodes it was way too short and that the episodes where too short in themselves - 30 -35 mins .

It`d have been much better, if they`d made 10-12 episodes and made them a bit longer.

Anyone seen the new Netflix horror series by the Stranger Things guys yet? Something Very Bad is Going to Happen

I`m half way through it ( 4 eps ).

A lot of influences, Hitchcock, Stephen King, Stranger Things amongst others.

It`s not remotely scary in anyway and I`d say the reviews are massively over hyped.

It`s " okay ", not great, has a made for tv feel about it and I`d say it`s one to watch when you`ve run out of anything else to watch.

One very annoying thing about it, is that the way it watches, the screen is really dark, so you miss stuff, as you can`t see things properly !

Ah right, I won't rush to binge it tonight then

What annoys me about it is that it has a really good cast. But there is just no character development. They all make the same mistakes over and over again and basically never get any comeuppance (with one exception in series 4). Yas, Harper and Eric do the same things they do from start to finish and they are all so dislikable.

I will get pelters for this no doubt but it was a similar issue I had with Succession towards the end. The same thing happens over and over again in slightly different settings. Both shows have some incredible episodes in the later series no doubt but a lot of it just feels like repetitive filler to get to an end point.

"No character development"

So you're saying that Robert, Yasmin, Eric and Harper have no character development.

Thats just comical. A masterclass in alexithymia.

Can only assume 2001 A space odyssey is the emotional character development you crave.

I'm teasing but maybe go onto the reddit chats and see how people are complimenting the series for the dramatic character evolvements season on season.
