according to the now everton site Riera would prefer the redshyte if they up there offer to match ours he will go there.so with that in mind I would withdraw the offer [Poor language removed] him if the shyte cant afford to match the offer I dont want any one who sees us as second choice

Defo RS type player but feeling in the bones today that this will be one of our signings. Hoping for the Marquee signings like everyone else but think Moyes will stick to his buy British policy ultimately and majority of other signings if there are any will be as British as they come IMO

ps remember Moyes saying at last Decembers AGM he would still make the majority of any signings from the British market- think his expansion of scouting network needs another 12mths to bear fruit as well- could be part of prob this time around too with new scouts in place for only a short period-time needed to build up quality contacts with clubs overseas etc (in addition to improving our negotiation skills with big name players!!!!)

Are some of you serious?!?!? RIERA IS [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed], he was [Poor language removed] for City, they didn't want to pay 3m for him, and we want to pay 15m!? I hope this is a [Poor language removed] wind up coz I can't be doing with this, plus he wants to play for the [Poor language removed].

[Poor language removed] OFF THIS C U Next Tuesday

Cya mate.

The Toffees seem prepared to pay £12million for Riera, which is better than Liverpool's package which is believed to have included Andrei Voronin in exchange.

What were the RS thinking offering Voronin as well? Do they really want to have to pay more than just the £12m in order to get Espanyol to accept such a deal?

ive read a hell of a lot of articles about this deal.

the general jist is that he is a very good attacking player when on form.
a very skilful attacking wide player with a thunderous shot.
his weak points are that he doesnt track back much and is a player who has dips in form.
one web site says he needs a lot of confidence boosting and attention from the manager to get the best out of him.

he doesnt actually prefer liverpool over everton.
but he would prefer to go to a team in the champions league (hense the preference to liverpool rumour).

he defo wants to leave , everton have had a bid accepted (12 million), liverpool havent (there bid was 5 million + veron).

a lot of people have said he was rubbish at man city . but from what ive read he is a lot bigger and a lot better .
he was also played as wing back at man city , not his best position.

I don't know anything about him. I do agree with your argument regarding him being much better now than when at City, though. You've only got to look at Arteta to see that a player can be adequate at best at one club, then go on to really prove himself at another.

I also agree with you that it is fair enough he would prefer the RS. He's no affinity to Everton so is bound to look at a world famous team playing CL football on a yearly basis as the more appealing move. This doesn't mean he disrespecting us.

BBC Sport say he and Valencia are having a sit down with the [Poor language removed] on Wednesday to talk about the move.

Gets on my [Poor language removed] nerves. Players who want to come we cant afford and players we can afford dont want to come.

Not buying Moutinho will be one of the biggest mistakes this club has done since getting rid of Rooney bollocks IMO.
