Transfer rumour! Peter Crouch

I'll take crouch, we need a goal scorer and with saha looking slow and off the pace, beckford needing time to adjust to this level and Yak having disappeared we need goals from somewhere and fast otherwise this start will be as good as it has been in recent years.

Wish people would get off the Crouch is crap bandwagon. Its sooooo 2006. People cant see past the fact he looks awkward on the ball. The man has one of the best first touches in the premier league as well as great vision and clearly can score goals at club and international level. Think he'd be great with Saha or Beckford. I say 5 mill plus Crouch for the Piemonster.

Crouch would be a great signing. I know its a classic football cliche, but he has got a great touch for a big man (awaits abuse) but he does score goals and good ones too. Saha/Beckford/Yakubu playing off him would give us a different threat.

Despite me liking the idea, I just cannot see it happening because he probably likes the London life, the wages and Harry Redknob not seeing it as value for money. I think we should accept that Pienaar is not going to be with us much longer despite all the talk of wanting to sign from both the club and everton, so we should use it as an opportunity to improve elsewhere.

I wouldn't like this deal, we would be losing our second best creative player, and one of our best players from last season, for a striker. Unless Moyes has something up his sleeve to get a new creative midfielder (such as selling the Yak and Yobo) then I don't see this deal going ahead. I wouldn't have thought 'Arry would be wanting to get rid of Crouch for Pienaar anyway, as Spurs already have several creative midfielders in their squad as it is.

I think this story is all "ifs", "Buts" and "Maybes". for us to swap Crouch for Pienaar; both players would have to agree to it, Crouch would have to take a drop in wages, Spurs would have to sign a new striker, Everton would have to sell a stiker (Yakubu, probably) and Everton would have to sign a replacement for pienaar. All within a few days before the window shuts......not likely in my opinion

Yeah I agree with you, there is just not enough time left ......

Personaly i would prefer a like for like replacement, as one of our main creative outlets i think we would struggle to break teams down, we already are anyway.

I would be worried that Crouch would be to easy of an outlet, for the kick and rush game, when we have prob one of the best midfeilds in the prem so no need to be kicking the ball over the head.

Equally who would provide the corsses for him?

5 mill plus Keane or Pav'Chenko.......

i don't think i could take watching Hibbert or Neville constantly smack long diagonal balls to a lanky striker....i thought we got past that......

This kind of move would seriously cause me to rethink my support of Moyes.

Crouch is total and utter [Poor language removed]. If Everton are going to send Pienaar packing, I'd rather Moyes get what ever cash he can for him and use that in Moyes style - a couple of shrewd buys. Crouch would help Everton like a hole in the head.
