Funny thing is though, some of their fans refer to themselves as Dr. Spurs for much the same sort of reasons.

His wages and the fact he has one year left on his contract, means he’ll be off no matter what.

Surprised a few think they would instantly bounce back. Those teams that get promoted and relegated are still geared for the championship. Doesnt mean Spurs are geared for the championship. That current squad is going to be completely drained as well so i'd wait and see who's playing for them first.
Spurs could really fall off a cliff here.
The game against Brighton is one of the biggest in that clubs history. They have to win it. Simple as.

Financially, they would be the best prepared to bounce back of any PL team ever.

There would obviously be significant squad turnover, but they could buy their way back up, probably better than any other club in recent memory.

Said this in another thread, but Vuskovic on loan at Hamburg is the one their fans are excited about. That's always the marker for me.
