Tottenham Hotspur

Not a fan of De Zerbi, think he's a mad appointment for Spurs' situation as well. But I've got a lot of sympathy for him, everything seems to be going against Spurs at the minute.

If they do go down, but De Zerbi stays, he'll go up a lot in my estimation. As he will if he keeps them up from this position.

He literally can't lose, tbh.

5-year deal, if they go down, hes due millions, if he keeps them up, hes dur millions.

His reputation in England can't get lower.

Sympathy for him? You do realise that he didn’t have to take the job don’t you…

Pretty sure he’ll have had them over a barrel about not getting his wage packet hit too hard if they do go down too

Think De Zerbi is not the manager Spurs needed right now, they needed a Dyche type manager to simply things get them tight at the back and make them feel 10 feet tall.

Having said that if he does keep them up either his got something about him or one of Leeds, Forest or Wham collapse.
They should have gotten the Dyche type in when they hired Tudor. They thought that was Tudor, but he's incompetent.

Or, they could have just stuck with Frank until the end of the season, and imo would have been well clear of relegation.

I just mean from a footballing point of view. Being forever labelled as the man who took Spurs down will be incredibly damaging to his reputation, especially given he was meant to be the next best thing only a year or two ago.

He’s another blag artist. Literally can’t manage a season in charge of a club without throwing his toys out of the pram and bailing.

Financially, they would be the best prepared to bounce back of any PL team ever.

There would obviously be significant squad turnover, but they could buy their way back up, probably better than any other club in recent memory.
True, but the EFL has more stringent PSR rules or whatever they're calling it these days. Losses can't be as big, so Spurs can't just spend what they want as their decreased revenues won't cover it.

It's a rolling 3 year calculation though, and they are the most profitable club on the pyramid.

How exactly would Dyche do that by telling them they’re rubbish every day and that they can’t hope to do anything other than be compact and win 1-0 from a set piece?
