Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs would essentially be like Newcastle on steroids in the Championship, they would piss it. I like to mock the Beyonce money and the day tripper NFL Tarquins but make no mistake that money actually would blow every Championship team out of the water. They’re not in anything like the same position as Leeds, Sheff Wed and Forest.
The Championship is an extremely competitive league. Generally you need two seasons to fall out of the PL and come up again unless you are an established Yo-Yo club and have a settled squad. Spurs could/should be losing 9 players over the summer. And just because you spend half a billion doesn't mean there will be results as we have seen this season.

Yeah, I think rebuilding the squad into Championship-promotion-chasing one is far easier said than done.

It's not just about throwing money at the situation.

You'd imagine Spurs would be wanting to sign PL-quality players, not filling their ranks with top-of-the-Championship standard players that they'd need to jettison once they get promoted.

It's really hard to find players with the right ambition and work ethic that would rather move to a club in the Championship than a side in the PL.

Of all the Top 6, Spurs are the most dispensible.

Theyre the least popular, least successful, most recent addition to the pool.

Them going down adds to the PL excitement, and if needs be, Newcastle are waiting in the wings to become the 6th team.

So I am not sure the PL will be bending it so Spurs stay, this will be theor second straight season of finishing in the bottom half (and potentially lower), theyre expendable alright.

The same people who think there is no conspiracy, would be the same people who'd thank the PL for a points deduction.

Talking of a conspiracy, arent we another US owned club to go with the rest of the top 6 aside from City (awaiting punishment)...

Perhaps the yanks are turning the screw

I don’t agree with that at all. Newcastle went down twice and both times absolutely blitzed the Championship first time of asking. Spurs would do the same and you’re kidding yourself trying to convince yourself otherwise.

Not all clubs go down and come straight back up. Newcastle last played in the Championship a decade ago nearly and its changed a lot since then competitively. You’re kidding yourself trying to convince yourself otherwise.
