The Dele incident was as blatant as they came. The rule was if it hits the player in the hand, its a penalty. Even on the old system, his hand was in an unnatural position. Because of the rule though, it's a simple yes no, and somehow they managed to pick the wrong option. In a season of appalling decisions, that was the worst one because it was the one you can't make a case for the other way.
When you say "Var looked at both" what you actually mean is a referee looked at the Dele incident, and somehow came to the conclusion the ball didn't hit his hand. I have no idea how they did so.
