Dont be daft. He went to ground to win the ball, then when he realised he wasnt getting it hurled himself to the floor a second time to claim a penalty.

I was really just being as silly as the above statements that Everton deserved a penalty because Dele
"Caught the ball in the area" and
"Punched the ball away" in the same incident.
VAR looked at both incidents, neither was a penalty.

the 'not that type of player' stuff about Son is absolute rubbish.

to be clear, if he'd done that to one of my team mates i'd roy keane his knee into oblivion within the first 5 minutes the bad snide.

haha 'wrongly'.

he deliberately swiped him from behind you absolute mentalist.

The ref correctly gave him a yellow, the ref wrongly changed it to a red card when he saw the resting injury of Gomes also going into another Spurs player.
The appeal panel agreed and cancelled the red.

I totally understand you all being upset about it but it's mainly only Everton fans who think it was a red, pretty much no other supporter in the country did (just like some Everton fans on here also didn't think it was.)

Anyway, this has been done to death before gents so back to the match thread in case I get yet another warning for going off topic by replying ;)

the outcome was unlucky but the fact the outcome happened shows that it was dangerous play. it wasn't a 'kick'. it was a professional foul. but it WAS deliberate. it was a deliberate attempt to foul.

however, it looked. a deliberate attempt to foul someone that ends in severely injuring them is a red card.

either way, id be two feet in the air, the ball 10 yards behind me, studs aimed directly at his ACL having sprinted after him for 50 yards. then i'd do a knee slide into the corner like id just scored a goal having ran the length of the pitch waving my shirt around my head.

Who's the mentalist lol ?

Funny how we all see things differently cos I (and the premier panel) thought that Son's yellow card was sufficient for the trip and that's why the red card issued was rescinded.
In the game itself, I thought Spurs missed a fair few more chances to put the game to bed and were in complete te control of the game until the sending off.

Anyway, it's all in the past now ;)
And Dele Alli handled the ball

Sorry but last time I checked endangering an opponent is serious foul play and a red card offence.

The fact is the rat lost his head, because he caught a stray hand when Gomes was shielding the ball about 5 mins prior, made no attempt to play the ball and lashed out. Would he have been sent off without the injury? Probably not. But it did cause a serious injury so it should've stood.

And if you are gonna be picky, he should've already been booked for his Tom Daly impression 15 minutes prior but we all know how strong the refereeing is nowadays.

The Dele incident was a stone wall penalty though mate, The other two incidents (Richarlinson and Son) are questionable. You are weighing up how much contact there is v the fall.

The Dele incident was as blatant as they came. The rule was if it hits the player in the hand, its a penalty. Even on the old system, his hand was in an unnatural position. Because of the rule though, it's a simple yes no, and somehow they managed to pick the wrong option. In a season of appalling decisions, that was the worst one because it was the one you can't make a case for the other way.

When you say "Var looked at both" what you actually mean is a referee looked at the Dele incident, and somehow came to the conclusion the ball didn't hit his hand. I have no idea how they did so.
