Keane is the one that’s surprised me most tbh. I was gutted that we didn’t get him and seemed to get a lesser player in Maguire but now it appears that was a blessing. Still plenty of time for him to turn it around and maybe he just needs a leader to partner him
Keanes a god player mate, his form and confidence have just been utterly tanked by having to nplay alongside jags/Williams and at times Martina the other side at right back

We will be fine. We have a better squad than the team that finished 7th last season, albeit without Lukaku. A good manager will whip them into shape fairly quick.

Lessons must be learnt though. I hope there will be an inquest into how mistakes we're allowed to be made, especially in terms of recruitment.

Bringing in too many players at once, and failing to replace Lukaku and a center back was criminal.

The blame rests squarely at the feet of the board. They are the ones who recruited Koeman and Walsh; a tactically sub-standard manager and a glorified scout.

99% of fans, including myself, were crying out for more signings in the summer, just as one was signed we were screaming for the next, like a fat kid screaming at his mum for more chocolate cake.

It’s the comment about having a better squad than last seasons team that I find worrying for that’s clearly not the case.

Ok I get it that the money spent on players suggests on a player by player basis tha squad should be better but there has not been any real indications that this squad are anything other than a group of players thrown together with little plan or indeed management.

There is no doubt that Lukaku was just a player but he does what football is all about namely scoring and I reflect on the comments from many on here which clearly echos the clubs thought process that his goals would be shared around the squad. Folly then and catastrophic now.

I will throw someone into the pot and that is has Barry been more a loss than many thought would be the case?

Start of the season, new players, optimism, looking to build on the 7th position from last season.

Amazing how bent it has gone in 3 months.

Think Koeman would have still turned it around. By sacking him we have created more jeopardy and more uncertainty.

Sunday is one defeat too far, one we cannot afford to take.

Morale is so low now it will either have bottomed out or we will stay in the mess.

Shame on Mosh and Kenwright for this mess. Unsworth is clearly out of his depth and his team selections have been baffling to say the least.

Not sure about Unsworth being out of his depth, however, certainly been caught out playing to the gallery. Nothing shameful in our last two games shutting up shop and coming away with draws. Maybe naivety, certainly looked better in the first half last night, but then took off Guaye, the centre backs needing protecting all-night long being a new partnership. Probably lost himself the job

we need to get a few wins on the board before Xmas and the January window. if we go into January on 20 points I think we'll be fine. Someone has to find the net other than Rooney and Niasse

Once the new manager gets his first win we will be up and running. Koeman was out of his depth at Everton and I genuinely feared for the team the longer he stayed in the hotseat. I'm calm about the situation now he is gone. Unsworth is more out of his depth than Koeman so it is no surprise that we haven't turned the corner yet.

This squad with organsization and confidence is easily a top 8 team. We just need to get the right manager.

Exactly, and we made ourselves sick. Klaassen, Gylfi, Sandro and Cuco were needless signings. I'm almost sure all four of those were Koeman (not Walsh) signings.

He started well, it's just that in the last few weeks his confidence has taken an absolute pounding and you can't blame him.

If we had replaced Lukaku would you still think the squad was not better than last season? We are like a car owner who spruces up a car but fails to replace the battery. The car looks great in a photograph but is useless without a core component.

I was gutted when Barry left. I watched him during pre-season and he was the best performer in that position. I'm sure his influence in and around the dressing room is missed.

Barkley and Coleman have also been big misses. Koeman knew we would be without Lukaku, Barkley and Coleman while the transfer window was open. I honestly believe he tried to pass the blame onto the board for not properly replacing those players. When he mouthed off to the press about needing a striker and a center back, he knew what he was doing. He was covering his own back. He is egotistical and blames others for his failures.

As I mentioned in another post, ultimately the board are responsible for appointing him in the first place. I just hope that the board have learned lessons and appoint a competent manager next time.
