In honesty, we have been crap this past two seasons. Big Rom's goals masked many a brutal performance. Without him, we are holed below water. Managers come, managers go, our squad was and remains abysmal. Hard to be optimistic at this point. I agree with the earlier point about how we got out of jail in the Bournemouth game. Without exception, we have been rubbish in every game I have seen this season. Even in the away leg of the pre qualifier for the Europa league against - no disrespect - part timers, the early warning signs were flashing loud and clear that evening.

Then Koeman clearly did not or would not see what was needed in summer.

We shouldn't be though, and like others I am not having the blame lays solely at his door.

He was let down in 2 windows in the pursuit of a striker, which ended up with a last minute panic in Enner Valencia last year and nobody coming in this window to replace Lukaku.

He had mended the mess Martinez had made, we were all buzzing when we signed Pickford, Keane, Sandro and Klaassen....his downfall was probably then wasting money on another number 10 (it should have been Gylfi or Klaassen) and possibly bringing Rooney back, which at the time a lot of people were on the fence about.

He has made errors and a mess of things, I would be stupid to deny that, but if I remember rightly Southampton got into a mess at the start of his second season there and he turned it around.
AKA our top goalscorer Thomas?

AKA our top goalscorer Thomas?

I know, I know.

I have also put in other threads that we should now use him as our main striker for the foreseeable if we are not going to play Sandro.

Doesn't mean it was a forward thinking signing though, pretty sure none of the teams who finished above us would have touched him with a barge pole.

He spent £200M mate.

Let down my arse.

He was a spendthrift. He built up his squad and this is the result. How on earth can anyone want MORE of that?!

Unreal.

He was let down but that doesn't mean he also wasn't building the most expensive hoof ball team in history.

That must have been the final straw: his final training sessions with his two hundred million quid squad and he's telling them to boot the ball downfield as far as they can and run after it.

Lol.

£6M last season plus a massive pay off that feller got. He saw that divvy Moshiri coming a mile off and mugged him good and proper.

We sold 97M including a CF, we bought 142M. Can we stop with this 200M, please?

He clearly stated he wanted a CF and a CB. He's the manager, not the D of F. He deserves enough garbage for his poor tactics. Seriously, does anyone think it was Koeman's fault we sold Lukaku? If not, why would it be Koeman's fault we didn't buy a replacement?

Yeah mate, let's bring him back. He was doing a fine job here...it was just other people holding him back and forcing him to spend £200M on players he didn't want.

The feller is a conman. He's conned massive cash out of the club and he also seemingly conned some supporters to believe his cock and bull story of having his hands tied.

He had you off mate.

Ok, not what I said. Agree he needed to go. Inflexible tactics, couldn't succeed without his system, which was a clear indicator that he's not a top flight manager. Got it. 100% in agreement.

Regardless, he didn't buy anyone. That's not his job. This isn't that difficult, but some here just don't seem to understand it. He likely agreed with the buys. Honestly, not getting a CF and a CB was a good thing in the long run in that it forced him to be adaptive and he couldn't do it.

Again, it's not 200M. It's 45M. He didn't sell Lukaku. He didn't say to Walsh, PLEASE DON'T REPLACE ROM. He didn't say, PLEASE KEEP OUR CBs and DON'T GET A BACKUP FOR LB. There's also no friggin way he or anyone would've bought Klaassen if he seriously didn't think we'd replace Rom. That's just silly. I just don't see how Walsh and the board aren't at fault here for the roster.

So again, bad tactician, bad manager, not able to adapt, glad he's gone. Conceeded. But he wasn't the GM. The man or men responsible for the roster are still here. So if the next manager can't swing it and get this team into the top 7 by the end of the year, they should all be gone.

You gonna argue with that?

Klaassen, Gylfi, Cuco and Sandro along with Giroud; all Koeman targets. He failed to have a plan b if the Giroud deal fell through which was just criminal and lazy.

The fella preferred to play golf and go for meals in Manchester rather than going the extra miles and putting the extra hours in. He couldn't wait to leave training everyday.

Is there any wonder the team was so unprepared going into this season. The fella is a half-baked, half-assed egomaniac who thinks the football world should kiss his feet just for breathing.

Absolute fraud.

Again, fine, glad he's gone, but him playing golf if anything was an indicator that he wasn't in charge of the transfer business. All I'm saying is that if the issue is the roster, and not just the tactics, then that's not Koeman.

Look, there's PLENTY to indict him on. I don't want him back. I'm glad he's gone. But the roster wasn't purely his creation and others deserve accountability.

I agree. The entire roster wasn't entirely his creation. I do believe though that he was responsible for bringing players into the club who were expected to walk straight into the team now. He ballsed that up.

He witnessed Lukaku leaving then he fixated and double-downed on the Sigurdsson deal, wasting £45M when there was a Lukaku shaped hole in the team that desperately needed filling. There's no excuses there, I'm afraid.

The manager always takes the responsibility. ALWAYS.

Walsh is a de facto head scout and not a continental type of ruthless hands on DoF.

This is Koeman's mess. He owns it. All of it.
