Why - there is a 3rd of the season to go and a draw today doesn't change we're we want to be. Physiology if we beat Sunderland we move within 4 points of united who don't play re LC final - they would have played city! So let's not be all doom just yet..

I think it's 7th nailed on. Not being all doom and gloom, I just think that's what's gonna happen.

anyone know if weve been on motd yet?
me pause thing messed up and its went live
waiting for ages couldn't be bothered

I've looked through the run in trying to be as realistic as I can and I've got 20 points from the 13 remaining. 6 wins 2 draw and 5 losses. I think it's 7th for us. I don't see us picking up points in the away games at Spurs united arsenal and especially the RS. It's not doom mongering it's just realism imo. It's been games like today, but more specifically the likes of home to Swansea, palace, Liverpool, United etc and the aways at Bournemouth, Watford, Burnley, Hull, Southampton etc. These are the ones that have got us too far behind.

All we can do is take it one game at a time but it's almost certainly gonna be 7th, and that worries me that the season could fizzle out with little to play for. Better than looking over our shoulders anxiously like last 2 seasons mind you.

Indeed.

And the RS were due to play Saints that weekend so three of the teams above us will be inactive, league wise, so a win over Sunderland would see us move closer to them and all three facing difficult match in hands.

Still plenty to aim at IMO.

All this talk of us finishing 4th for only the second time in the last quarter of a century is just pie in the sky. Our run-in is a particularly difficult one and we're currently 8 points (plus goal difference, so call it 9 points) behind 4th place.

I think we'll definitely finish in the top 10 for the first time since the 2013/14 season and I think we have a reasonable chance of getting into Europe, but top 4? No chance.

Let's get real.

Watching that game earlier Boro made it crap mate they are a park the bus team, but whatever works for them not many teams will score past them.
They did but honestly they have every right to do that. If we were good enough then we wouldve been able to score, we got chances but didnt finish them. Every team has strengths and weaknesses, they played to theirs.

Agree absolutely we were not good enough on the day

Well, we're pretty certain to get three points next week at home to Sunderland, or I'm a German.

Guten Abend by the way.

Won't be next week I'm afraid, mein herr.:(

We have a blank week thanks to the F.A. Cup

Be the week after.

BTW.....take nowt for granted.

Sunderland won three on the bounce at The Park before we beat them last season :(
