When we have to bring on Valencia and Lennon, it says it all. We have to stop signing players like Valencia if we are serious about moving forward as a club. Last minute cheapo punts to be your number 2 striker simply have to be a thing of the past now.

It's a cruel deception. The position we have right now is a perfectly good platform to launch a realistic top four bid next season. Why some would wish to heap on top unnecessary pressure for that bid I don't know.

Performances are mixed and results also, better than we perhaps expected though. However, we're miles off.

There's nothing to see here this season, it's been dead as a competitive one for weeks. We must build for next season and then reality judge what we have here. Gabbadini 3 goals in work games. Time and time again we mess about in the Transfer window when we are in a good position and it comes back to bite us on the backside. Him and Rom could have had us top 6 this season when now it's 7th at best.

I think you're spot on here in your first paragraph - as long as Rom signs on.
