He was indeed good going forward, but he gave the ball up way too often. He's fine as long as there is a number 6 behind him. That'll be Gana on Sunday.

So I'm on board with Gana/Davies, Davies being a bit more box to box, Siggy up farther in the middle, Vlasic and Lookman on either side - although Kev was good last night - and Niasse with his movement up front. Put JonJoe and Baines wide, Jags/Keane in the middle, and we could win.

I would EVEN be okay with Rooney up front in that lineup, but we aren't getting many headers if that's the case.

I watched Maxime Gonalons turn in a midfield masterclass the other day for Roma, some floppy haired beaut running around a bit does not impress me.

And Gonalons is how old and played how many games......?

gueye can't play as the deepest midfielder, he doesn't have the brains, so it's one of davies or gueye alongside someone who sits, and davies actually uses the ball, so that puts him ahead, possibly you can play three and just tell gana to chase everything
