Rodgers got his tactics and team selection wrong and it was blatantly obvious from the first 10 minutes. An astute knowledgeable manager would have changed it during the first half but Rodgers is a limited tactician, made worse by his ego. Liverpool no longer control the ball but boom it forward for Suarez or Sturridge or Sterling to chase so they can try and get the ball in and around the penalty area. He is relying on luck not controlled football.

The RS media have tried to convince the world that Anfield is still a 'fortress' and that is why they will not only get 4th. but challenge for the title. They think that because they have all the top teams to play at Anfield they are going to win them all and storm the league. Any team that controls the ball with pass and move will give LFC a game at Anfield. Like OT, Anfield shouldn't hold any fear for teams except those that are beat before they get off the bus Norwich, Fulham etc. Their home form could actually be the worse they have ever had I can't see us, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle rolling over.
Rodgers was quick to point out after the match he knew what went wrong in the first half...just to show the outside world he was aware of it.

An absolute phony.

Rodgers has been immersed in the fabricated, ludicrous Kopite culture that is Liverpool FC. I know some Liverpool fans were laughing their socks off when we appointed a manager who had just overseen a relegation but they also forgot the fact that Rodgers had been sacked at reading previous to his appointment. He got the Liverpool job primarily because he fitted the criteria in my opinion; a young British manager which encourages good football. Liverpool have been reliant far too much on Suarez and Sturridge and mignolet far too much this season; city and Chelsea and arsenal have a number of players which can produce the magic whilst Liverpool, IMO, have only a handful which appear and receive far more accolades and praise than their performances warrant e.g. Lucas.

As mentioned previously, they are far too dependent on the front two and at the moment, fortuitous rubs of the green alongside defensive mistakes to earn them victories. Rodgers massively out of his depth IMO- I think victory on Monday night puts us in the driving seat for 4th spot. COYB!!

Must be awful though watching your team get played off the park most weeks by averag teams... They must sit on the edge of their seats and pray Suarez gets them out of trouble ..... Never has a team been more reliant on 1 player.... It's crazy.

Except Rodgers inherited a team made by someone else before that - Swansea - and didn't change anything in the playing style or anything.

Basically what I'm trying to say with that is that since he went to the RS he was outed as a bad tactician and the fact he succeeded with the Swans beforehand is more or less down to the fact that Martinez (and, for a season, Sousa) established a team based around passing and retaining possession - he didn't have to do absolutely anything to improve it - just find players that would fit in the system.

Regardless, they make a lot of luck for themselves and it doesn't appear to be running out.

So in that respect they'll continue to pick up loads of points.

This x 100. Keith Millen was in charge for the draw against you and the win at Hull.Pulis has transformed us.We outplayed and out fought Stoke today but it is still so tight. We need some quality up front to help Chamakh.

I really hope you guys stay up!

I've never been a fan of Pulis, mainly because of his style of play, but you've got to give it to him, he knows how to get teams organised and to get the best out of players.

Sad to see so many so called pundits trying to excuse the dive too.

Collymore is on one tonight though, boss tweet

Nice to see so many #LFC bloggers, fans giving out filthy abuse because your boy dived. Save it for him when he ****s off in June.

Fair dues to stan, he speaks sense when he needs to

Tell me quite how someone hasn't leathered him on the spot. His level at feigning injury, ranks alongside De Niro. How has this tit managed to go from being a refs worst nightmare to a fart that smells of roses in such a small time frame. He just will never get booked for his theatrics. His whole career is littered with controversy

Groucho.... stop it lad. I'm just blowing off some steam ok. I understand I've gotta curb the swearing but overlook some of it will you. Its understandable mate.

If I go the gym in this state, I'm going to go in bouncing, think I can bench press excess and do myself a bad one. An injury could put me out of typing, and we have a game in 2 days and I want to type on here.

So will you let it go, yeah.

It was hilarious when Suarez went down and waved his hand in the air, as per usual, and the RS played on. Also after the game Rodgers said that last season against Stoke away and Villa at home they got nil points but got 4 this season and that is how much they have progressed. Definitely a new 'Rodgersballs' needs to be made.

After the win at Spurs he was only interested in telling the world 'how we (i.e me) got our tactics right'. He is one of the biggest buffoons that ever stood on the side of a football pitch. Can't see Stevie me buying the bull for much longer.

follow the rules if you want to still be posting here for WBA like, he's doing his job.

Agree- structure was in place at Swansea for him. Does that suggest where Liverpool are going, appointing a manager who finished 12th in the premiership and was sacked by Swansea or does it underline how little British managers of the quality of yesteryear are currently in the game? It also highlights the point that there are a number of fantastic British managers plying their trade in the lower divisions, ignored by the club they manage. Same with the national team- club stature overpowers talent and quality IMO these days. Liverpool, to be fair to them, took a gamble appointing rodgers and who knows it may work but for me he has been shown up as an out of depth, poor tactician, reliant on one player and the financial potency the Kopites possess.
