Some of the cry arsing in here is amazing " Well, I'm not really bothered if they win!!! " after writing a 7 page essay on how poor Barca were.

" I'm nearly done with Football " It's only a game, imagine being round in the 80's when they won everything.

The best one though, is @toffeejack saying 15 mins after the result when they had beat Barca 4 nil he said " that they are obsessed with us " this was due to someone at the BBC making a comment about 2 mins to go and it must be nervous for the Liverpool fans and the Everton fans.

How it knows it was a Liverpool who wrote that i don't know, but he knew that all the fans of them lot instead of celebrating a comeback win or planning a trip to Madrid they are obsessing with us.

Get a grip.

Aye, it really isn't the end of the world. As unbearable as the media and most of their fans are going to be, the cycle just begins again next season and life goes on.

I know mate grown men whinging like the world is ending, it’s absolutely embarrassing. These are the same people who moan about being called bitters too.

It’s a game, get over it.

One thing that RS win showed very clearly is how much raw athleticism means in this sport now that pressing has become the main way of playing. Barca had 7 outfield players who are quite frankly slow. The 3 who have some pace are all quite small guys. Compare that with the pace and energy Liverpool had in midfield, at fullback and up top plus the great covering speed of Van Dijk and it makes it very hard to control the game. In the past Barcelona overcame this buy keeping the ball for the entire game but that isn't easy when you don't have Iniesta or Xavi anymore. Basically they've converted to a defensive system that isn't all that different from ours but without Gana to win the ball and Zouma to control the back. They were completely bullied tonight physically and it wasn't too different from how they lost to PSG before the comeback, Roma, and Atletico.
Athleticism. That's the clue. If a surprising dominant performance occurred in a running or cycling event, all would be on about P E Ds. How much testing is done in football? I wonder.

Accepted it now, lucky mostly United fans in our office so not too bad, they hate them too.

Possibly best if Spurs win tonight and score two but I can't see either proving any sort of obstacle at all, it really makes little difference.

It could just be that all four European finalists in the CL and Europa are premier league sides, such has been the absolute dominance of the premier league in Europe this season. Even City were knocked out by another premier league side.

(United knocking out PSG as poor as United are too - it's been the story of this season in Europe - other sides seem petrified or just don't turn up)

From an England point of view Ajax have a few Dutch players and the CL final may disrupt Hollands preparations for the Nations League semi.

Alexander-Arnold looks a massive prospect at right back far better than Walker imo, looks a better player every time I've seen him.

well this blows

we can't even mock liverpool for failing to win the prem now (if it happens) cos they will just laugh at us and say they won the european cup (if it happens)

just feels so everton

like finishing 4th and liverpool winning the champs league

Oh we’ll mock “them” all right.

The CL is a consolation prize.

It is the EPL “they” are really slavering over.

And you know that.

The better team went through over two legs and that's how it should be. Just a shame it was them. For Messi and Suarez to go missing at Anfield was criminal. But worse was the entire team turning off for that corner and watching Origi, the man all of their fans hate, tap the ball in with 7 Barca players standing in a line on the edge of the area not even aware the corner had been taken. The managers failure to change tactics when they were being murdered down the left wing was utterly abysmal, too. I guess we should have seen what was coming when that useless get Dembele missed that simple chance in the first leg. Anyway, they've won it now. Let's just hope they don't do the double.

Last straw to clutch is they generally revel in being underdogs, last time they went into a final as outright favourites they got completely outclassed by sevilla

Ajax are good and will give them a game at least, so there's that to fall back on if they go through

I really can't see Spurs handling the pressure and beating them in a Final, but stranger things have happened I guess

There's still the slimmest chance they won't do it, and I guess that'll have to sustain us through the long build up to the Final (Literally the entirety of May is now ruined because it'll be mentioned in every other match going forward, so you won't be able to avoid it during what should be the most exciting part of the season)
