makes the normal formality of the group stage more interesting, gives new qualifiers a fairer crack, and like you say league winners get the credit they deserve (apart from celtic), rather than teams from the powerhouse leagues getting all the credit. For all the xenophobic hate of platini in this country he has tried to do some good things

Agree fully, Platini has tried to do well. CL seedings reform was long overdue imo. Makes zero sense for us to be top seeds when we've been delighted with 4th.
