Sean: Villa should of been 3-2 up before Man City even had that corner. Shock, Top 4 side benefits from an appalling decision again.

didn't watch the game, but was it an appalling decision? seems to be that benteke was level. no offence like, but even without seeing it i can say that's not an appalling decision. assistants are not going to get 100% of decisions ever correct. there's a world of difference between the wrong decision and and appalling one.

To paraphrase Jamie Redknapp :" Yeah i know it's a very diffucult decision, the defender is going one way and the attacker the other and it's very hard to judge that. But the linesman should get that right anyway so it was a terrible decision". He's literally an idiot.

Obviously Sherwood moaned about it as well but pretty much all managers do. God knows why though, why it's so diffcult to realise its virtually an impossible decision to make for a linesman so there is a 50/50 chance of getting it right. And the fact it's their job doesn't change how pretty much impossible it is to make an accurate decision in that circumstance.

Come on it wasn't that close a call he, should have seen that right with a clear view and even the line of the 18 yard box to help him.

I'd be furious if that went against us tomorrow. Considering they'd fought back from 2 down and conceded straight after it it's a real kick in the bollocks for Villa that.

I totally agree with the bolded bit.

That said Benteke was running towards goals the defender running away from goal. He was exactly level...it's a 50/50 call in real time.

Villa won't go down mate. And I think you know it.
As bad as Sunderland are they will fancy themselves against Southampton next week. With their remaining fixtures they're surely eyeing that game and the Leicester game for their escape route.

Think this is going down to the wire and that Villa/Burnley game on the last day of the season could be the ticket that see's Villa go. Burnley will already be down and will just want to see the season out, no pressure on them. Villa will go into game dangling on a thread. Playing with nerves is dangerous.

This is what i mean.

Of course it was close, they were level, doesn't get much closer. A linsman has to keep an eye on the ball to see when it's played, an eye on the position of the last defender and nearest attacker, and other players on the pitch as well in case a foul is commited. And now apparently he has to look at the 18 yard line.

Add to that the movement of the defender and attacker going in different directions rather than standing still like in a freeze frame and it's virtually impossible for a human being to accurately judge if someone is offside or not with the naked eye.

But it's so so easy for managers, pundits and fans to say he should have got it right and to call him crap. So they do.

I'm sure they all reckon nuclear physics is easy as well. Well, it's easy to say it's easy anyway.
