i would genuinely feel sick if i witnessed Everton players defending a referee in the same way United players were jumping to the defence of their ref today in the Fulham match. Worst case of bootlicking i’ve ever seen, proper establishment club them

talking of red cards, remember when mcfadden got sent off against arsenal in the league cup in 2006 for just speaking to the referee or something, he came out in the press afterwards denying he called the ref a cheat

can't find anything on youtube except this highlight package but it doesn't show the sending off

Ok so firstly it’s simply not possible that that was 17 years ago , I just refuse to believe it.

Secondly yeah i’m sure they went on the cheat line as anything where you challenge the ref’s integrity or honesty is an immediate red.

Ref. was Graham Poll, there was no challenge that McFadden swore at him - but the player denied calling him a cheat. The club could have fined him for using that term with a match official but didn't.

The swearing wasn't disputed or punished.

This is the same Graham Poll who robbed us in the 2000 derby. The f***ing cheat.

I would be downright embarrassed if any of our players behaved like the Fulham ones did, Mitrovic especially

That Blackburn-Sheffield match was terrific. I didn't have a pony in the race, but great for a neutral.

As for the Fulham match, I only wish that as long as Mitrovic was gonna get a lengthy ban for making contact with the official, that prior to walking off the pitch he went over and kicked the shizzle out of Bruno Fernandes and broke turd-looking face.

Am I the only one who thinks they made a massive deal out of nothing?
Refs need to be better and more accountable if they want to start getting the respect they think they deserve...
People watch the games, especially those playing at grassroots level at all ages and think ‘if these big name players can get away with doing/saying anything to refs, then we can’ which leads to incidents at that level where referees have been verbally and physically abused, some as young as 16/17

You know what bothers me about the standard of reffing currently?

You see about 20 foul throws every game in the Premier League and the officials do nothing to pull players up on it

He got away with it because he plays for Utd. Same way Klopp can scream and harass the officials all game yet never be carded yet Silva does the same and gets a red.

The games completely bent.
Remember when "Sir Alex"/"SAF" back in 2012 had a go at a lino and referee for not flagging a goal offside at the half time interval, only for the ref not to include in his match report?.

Any other manager and it would have been written down. The games indeed bent and gone to the dogs.
