It's a farce. You're playing elite level sport and some teams are literally only having one week of pre-season. You've got players ruled out for testing positive for a virus that doesn't make them ill.
As you say, you have players sat on the bench wearing masks and sat apart to look all compliant and PC, but then having an orgy when a goal goes in. Honestly, who do they think they're kidding?
The rules state that I can't be in the same house as all my family, but it's ok for Gareth Southgate to travel from London to watch a match at the Etihad Stadium that's being televised anyway. Family life destroyed for millions but the great god of the Premier League must go on. One rule for us, no rules for them.
