To cheat or not to cheat?

You don't act in the right way because you receive recognition for it, you act in the right way because it's the right thing to do.

I'm not after recognition for us. I'm after things being evened up so playing honestly is compulsory. I don't want Everton to be at a disadvantage every week, which we would be, and have been.

I see Moyes, the bastion of honesty and virtue, has changed his tune since he went up the Lancs. Why, because he's finally realised he's at a disadvantage and he can't afford it.

There's I guess degrees of cheating. You've got the likes of Suarez who cheats so much they may as well rewrite the rulebook. Liverpool fans look ridiculous.

Ours we do the odd dive. But ours is usually retribution type things.

Like Kev Mirallas. Usually where we're applauded from most for it

This would be the ideal. But in the real world it's not happening.

Darwin told us to adapt or die...he had a point.

Sad but true.

BTW, I'm not a fan of cheating, diving, surrounding refs or anything else. I hate it. It's crap that it's sneaking into our game. But the games the game yo!

We have had our divers and cheaters over the years like every club. Its part and parcel of the game but moreso now than in the past. We can't make out we are the innocent club in the league.

If one of our players dived to win us a penalty that led to us winning the FA Cup I can honestly say I wouldn't be bothered.

Steven Gerrard is the biggest cheat in the premier league. The amount of penalties he's won for diving is ridiculous

Someone who cheats or dives or whatever in a blue shirt will be told and will not be accepted here at Everton

My thoughts exactly.

Always ticked off when Arteta would hit the deck and was ticked when Barkley recently took a dive.

Don't want to see other players do it.

Yes is my answer.

Why? Because it doesn't really harm your image. Look at the top sides. None of them are tainted by it, yet they all do it habitually.

The best player in the world, ronaldo, is a bad, bad cheat.

We're putting ourselves at a massive disadvantage by trying to be a moral guardian of the game and I've never really seen it mentioned in the press or see anyone in authority mention how others should follow suit.

BTW, about them, Suarez as good as he is, wouldn't be half the player if he didn't cheat, dive, screech like a girl and roll all over the show feigning injury.

CB's can never go into a tackle wholeheartedly or commit to a 50/50 or even go to ground with him, all because they know he'll con the ref. If he was an honest player he wouldn't do anywhere near as much damage.

this is very true, his snidery allows him the yard of space he needs

Cheating in the long run never helps. Sure it will get you a call initally but sooner or later refs catch on and you never get a call.

I think if Mirallas crashed into any other RS player but Suarez he would have gotten sent off. Refs know he's going to roll around like a punk now.

Also its pretty bad strategy. We don't dive much but when do we are so terrible at it and always get a yellow card.

I remember when Drogba stopped going to ground he had his best seasons. Vic's play enormously improved when he stopped flinging himself to the turf at the slightest touch.

Arteta sometimes went down easily but in his defense for a good 3-4 years he was by far the most fouled player in the prem. Its amazing he was able to play at a high level with us for as long as he did with relatively few injuries.

I didn't like the Barkley dive either.
