Tired Players

Above.

Seems you get to decide after how many games a player is allowed to be tired.

your completely reading it out of context. please show me where i said anything about me deciding how many games they should play...no please...no really, i'm waiting.

Reign in your ego mate i've thoroughly explained my position and reasoning, not my fault you can't grasp it.

Why do City, chelsea, United rotate their squad?

because they play a lot more games than us and have quality squad players. Our problem is lacking quality in depth nothing whatsoever to do with tiredness, we simply can't drop out of form players we don't have the quality on the bench.

My first thought would have been they had to chase the game from the very first minute ( they should anyway) but the tempo will have been 100mph immediately today,

Not a symphonic adjustment.

Your entire argument in this thread is that they haven't played enough games for tiredness to affect them. I even showed you where you said after how many games YOU think they should be able to play before they get tired :

I don't agree they should be able to pl;ay 45 games a season, if we were playing 60 i could understand it.

There it is again, you're saying they can be tired after 60 games but not 45. Just wondering what expertise you're using to back up that claim.

Its been explained that "tiredness" used in this sense to refer to Prem players means that they aren't at their peak so while they can easily play plenty of games, tiredness after a lot of games means they cannot play to the required level for 90 mins week in week out.

Your entire argument seems to be "I'm not buying that they're tired cause they haven't played enough games for me to think they should be tired".

Osman is quite clearly not playing to the required 100% level right now so clearly needs a rest because he's "tired" after playing 36 games this season. But of course you don't think thats enough games so he's not tired and people are imagining it.

I keep reading in various threads that some of our players look tired.

Now I'm not buying this nonsense because -

a) We got knocked out of the League Cup early doors so only played 2 extra games.

b) We got knocked out of the FA Cup QF stage an extra 4 games.

c) We are not in Europe so no extra games.

D) They are supposed to be professional athletes at their physical peak, with top level sports science and nutrition.

What do others think about this?

Hope this hasn't been done before I tried searching but couldn't see anything and it's the first thread I've started.

I think too many regard poor performances down to tiredness, where really it is what it is, a bad performance. Squad rotation is not really his thing either so when a player has a bad game it's pretty inevitable that they will still start the next game.

It took Neville to play like a sunday league player once to often before he was dropped. Heitinga has been very poor at times and still got in ahead of others.

I just don't go for the tiredness angle

Not very good sarcasm but anyway.

A lot of people refer to tiredness as playing too many games, this is what this thread was about.

"ossie is tired he needs a rest"

i've seen this many times written on here and i don't go for it we are not in europe we are out of all cups they shouldn't look tired. Had a sh*t game would be more appropriate.

I mean as a whole, I don't think we have been in a particularly grueling season for it to have a standing mentally. The managers contract situation more than likely subconsciously effects them mentally.

Physically they should definitely not be tired.

If a player isn't fully fit that's a whole new ball game.

I ask myself if Baines for example was given a couple of weeks rest because his body is carrying niggles and he would come back 100% fit, would that not be better than him playing at 80% every game and his form drop slightly?

Especially in Baines case as it's one area i feel we have a decent replacement, it's a quandary not easily solved as he's our best player.

Playing two games of footy for professional sportsmen in a week ? ( thats 3 hours )
Tired ?
Behave !!

has the concept of reading information and processing it not been explained to you my friend or is it simply mammy hasn't been showing you enough attention today so you're up for an argument ang going round in circles on the internet?

Anyway carry on, you're obviously a very disagreeable boy today, i'll let you simmer down.

And form can generally come from a number of places, tiredness and confidence being a few reasons.

And even with the amount games that United etc play more than us, our work rate per game surely takes its toll. Where United etc dictate play and keep possession more than us, we chase games and work hard. That itself can be more than extra games.

I actually read your posts several times so no need to quote them.

Still seems quite obvious that you think none of our players should be "tired" cause they haven't played enough games. Sometimes you've got a decent point about how that gets used as an excuse for a poor performance but i can't see anything other than you dismissing any affects of tiredness on our players cause you don't think they've played enough games to warrant it.

This is my own personal opinion, i'm not an expert and don't profess to be, my OWN personal opinion is that a premiership footballer should not be getting tired towards the end of the season when we have not been in any cups.

Bearing in mind a lot of people have been saying this for a few games now, so your trying to tell me that with 10 games to go still that they are not upto it physically. I'm sorry I don't buy it.

I can understand people being tired over the christmas period a game every other day or whatever but playing once a week, no it shouldn't be a factor.

Alright mate.

In that case its my opinion that players should be able to play 100 games a season without being tired.

Its a baseless and ridiculous as yours but hey, i'm starting to think that might have been the point.

Actually make that 150 games.

I'm not having any of that tired nonsense when they've only played 149 games in a season.

But players like Osman and Baines have played every game even through Christmas, as well as international games, fa cup, and carling cup, game after game.

If they play 3 games in 7 days and be tired, playing 30+ games consistently over a whole season if bound to catch up
