Time for Moyes to start using his squad?

Mucha(No Thanks)
Hibbert(Injured all season) Heitinga(Our worst player this season) Duffy(Inexperienced) Oviedo(Ok based on what we've seen)
Naismith(Not a right winger) Hitz(Ok, but nothing special) Neville(Too old) Gueye(On loan because he isn't good enough)
Barkley(inexperienced)
Anichebe(Our best striker, currently first 11)

I stand by my original statement.

Mucha (I've never fancied him)
Hibbert (Injured)
Heitinga (Looks like a liability this season)
Duffy (I like him and he did really well when he was forced to step in. I think that Moyes feels, if he's rotating centrebacks, that he has to use Heitinga first)
Oviedo (I'd be happy for him to start the odd game in place of Pienaar or occasionally Baines)
Naismith (If Moyes rotated Fellaini or played him deeper more often there would be more chances for Naismith to play in his natural position behind the striker)
Hitz (I don't see why he shouldn't start some games ahead of Osman)
Neville (Has probably seen more game time because of injuries to Coleman and Hibbert)
Gueye (I imagine will be returning to France permanently)
Barkley (Always looks bright, although probably isn't ready to start games)
Anichebe (Moyes seems to be using 4-4-2 more often which could suit both Vic and Jelavic)

Rotation of the squad seem s like a good idea but look what happened when Johnny came into the squad !

The team seem a little disjointed and off color I would pack the entire team off for a break away from FF and find a way to make them bond and focus stronger for the weeks ahead.

Breaks and rotations after 31 games in 6 months (just over a game per week). Imagine if we qualify for the EL next season. :dodgy:

understand what your saying Davek, the lazy sods are on enough money as it is but with no new players in we need to find a new spirit to get us over the line in the weeks ahead.

Moyes would argue that he could afford to bring in more players with CL money, but he probably would still took to his preferred starters. We're not really equipped for European football. It does seem to have hampered Newcastle and Stoke in the league.

I don't think that we're physically exhausted as much as mentally burnt out. We have to play at the peak of our ability every week under Moyes and the pressure can start to tell. Someone like Rooney or Tevez knows that, if he's going through a dip in form, someone else can come in and be a match-winner. Whereas we're reliant on the likes of Jelavic and Fellaini.

The 'squad ' isn't good enough to make more than one or two changes at a time.

Oviedo looks the pick of the bunch, although Velios has done nothing but impress in all his cameos....think the Fulham(?) start pegged him back a bit. I'm undecided on Barkley - might be a case of too much expectation? Matty Kennedy could be a decent wild card.

Get Seamie back in with Mirallas ahead of him, and put Neville on the bench and suddenly I dont particularly see any major issue.

Scored three goals. *end product *derby goal *out of position. I like Naismith. Hard worker

Hard worker? in what way? Running about?

I wish he worked a little harder on learning how to trap a ball..... something which is not effected by where on the pitch he receives the ball. He could be in goals and still learn to take a correct touch, so that he can then move the ball in the right direction. For me anyone who earns a living (and a good one at that) out of playing football should learn to trap a ball without effort.

I would like to see more of Ovi and Hitz but Naismith i hope never gets to play for us again, based on a continual level of horrible showings. I know he is not in behind the striker, but that doesnt make you have no level of concentration and the ability to take a touch and pass? He has been given more game time time than enough, but has failed on so many levels.

Baines is the real problem in terms of burnout. That lad looks like he could do with sitting out a few games even though he's still operating at a very good level. And the pressure of being Everton's main point of attack must be enormous. For that reason he's exceptional. Overall though I'm not convinced that at this stage of the season mental fatigue is a problem...or should be.

I've thought for a few weeks that Osman & Pienaar look knackered and in need of a rest. I'd love to see Barkley given 30 mins or so instead of Ossie alongside Gibson & Fellaini so he can make mistakes but have experienced players to help him out. The same for Oviedo as a replacement for Pienaar.

It's normally this time of season that our players start performing better not worse. Maybe the pre-season training was different, maybe the coaches need to do something different during the week but whatever we're doing at the moment isn't working.

It's expectation. They're buckling under it. It;s not physical game time. Have a look at the games clocked up by some of the top squads this season (40 games a lot of them).

Moyes confuses me a lot with his squad rotation. He sees Jelavic is performing badly so he drops him to the bench and gives Anichebe a deserved run. So far, so good. Yet Baines, Osman, Pienaar, Neville, who play 90 minutes nearly every match and have been looking off-form, can't even get subbed off with 30 minutes to go?

It's not like we don't have anyone that can't replace them. Barkley, Hitz, Oveido, can all do a job as a sub.

If players are playing week in week out it's natural that they'll take a bit of a dip around the midway point, where the finale still seems a long way off. It's pretty rare for any player from any team to go through a whole season at a consistently high level. I imagine that sometimes playing can feel like an effort and that players need a break to get their hunger for the game back. Donovan seems to be a prime example.

I'm not suggesting that we make wholesale changes but if Oviedo or any of the other fringe players felt that they had a genuine chance of staking a claim for a shirt then I think it would benefit both them and the player who is rotated out.
