Time for a rest .......

How many times have we already said that though?

So what's the alternative? Rest him? Big Vic got a goal today, but he's far from fit and far from the quality of Jelavic. Vellios is no where near ready to lead the line.

I understand what your saying mate. I don't believe in flogging a player to death, but there's a difference between being tired and jaded, and being out of form. Jelavic is just out of form.

He didn't miss any sitters the one from 3 yards was missed because of some crazy block and if he scored that we wouldn't be talking about this so feck you all

Despite his poor form, I'm quite tempted to bring him in to my fantasy football team. Reckon he might get a couple against Wigan.

I'd be OK to see Vellios get a game against Wigan with Jelavic back for the Chelsea game. We could also rest Jelavic at Cheltenham as well, particularly if we have a fuller squad (Mirallas, Fellaini) by then.

I think he'd be better up front with Vellios. I know we don't do two up top often, but we scored two against spurs like that.

I just think he just had a blinder last season similiar to cisse, I think people need to not expect the same sort of performances by him especially since more teams and defenders will know about his poaching ability and mark him more often. aslong as he gets atleast 15 goals by the end of the season ill be happy

Should have scored twice in the second half today, hit one straight at the keeper and the other into the side netting. But if this him out of form I'll take that now to have him back in form second half of the season.

There's another way of looking at this issue. If you take a club at a time from the top 7 and combine the league goals of the two players generally recognised as being 'up top', we come out of this (and Jelavic by extension) pretty well. I think of Jelavic and Fellaini as a front two pairing, because that's what they've pretty much operated as this season. So...

Van Persie/Rooney 19 goals
Felaini/Jelavic 14 goals
Aguero/Tevez 13 goals
Torres/Mata 12 goals
Long/Lukaku 11 goals
Defoe/Adebayor 10 goals
Podolski/Girou 9 goals

That said...he's defo missing a beat at the moment though, Jelavic. I dont think it's unreasonable to bench him.

Mirallas won't be back for weeks mate.

That shot was blocked mate. Should have been a corner.

Jelavics main problem is he has no pace, so plays off the last defender hence he is offside so many times. we have pienaar and osman on the flanks who both like to cut in leaving jelavic isolated.

to get the best out of him you need the wide players to stay out wide and get balls into the box.
