It's a forum thread, not an exclusive conversation between you two. that's what the messaging feature is for, surely?

I got involved because you're incorrectly saying Doug thinks Howard is brilliant and that no one else does when there have been plenty of advocates for his inclusion, including myself.


I think Howard needs replacing in the summer and I'm happy to trust the managers judgement that until then and with an inexperienced back 4 that Howard should play.

I don't think Robles is great. I think he has potential, and to be honest it's hard to judge any player whose appearances have been so sporadic, but we hardly have De Gea sitting on the bench there. But much of the problem - I think, anyway - for Howard is that he knows he is in no danger of being dropped. That was proven last season and it's being proven now. Howard might need that little fire under his arse to find some form again, because whatever is currently happening isn't good enough.

You were getting involved the other night with little digs at me whilst i was debating with douglas.
I suggest you look at all the facts and go back to see what dougall has really said about howard and how much he rates him.

I don't remember doing anything of the sort but if you feel like I did then I can only genuinely apologise. I'm in here purely for the debate.

The fact is that Doug gets dogs in here for apparently being the only one to think Howard should keep his place. He isn't. I think the same, others do too.

Most are in agreement that Howard needs replacing, but we have had bigger priorities in the last few windows.

Yeah no problem.
Doug has gone so overboard with howard thats why he gets pulled up so much.
We have different opinions on the keepers an thats fine but i still say even if it was a loanee it should have been dealt with in the summer

Doug he won by one vote V a Keeper we have hardly seen , and then when we do see him he is MOTM- have your poll now , and see how many vote TH gets now The Echo reckon 80% of blues fans want Robles to play on Sunday their top reporters team selection everyone of them have Robles in goal!

Agreed mate. Not sure who we could have got but would have been worth a punt.

It would just show how embarrassingly fickle some posters on here are though Joe, just look at Datty. The other week he was to cowardice to have an opinion now he's firmly in the Robles camp.

Was he really MOTM on Tuesday?
 
My problem with Howard is his age. If he was in his early twenties, you could persevere with him in goal in the hope that he will improve. The man is 36 years old, he isn't going to be getting better from here, if anything he will be getting worse.

He has never been at the level of a Casillas, Buffon, etc which begs the question as to why exactly is Martinez is adamant that, that position is Howard's and Howard's only.

For me it is nothing less than terrible management by Martinez. I really am getting sick of him now and the never ending bollocks he comes out with. Every press conference is as cringeworthy as anything Rodgers put out.
 
Sorry if this already been posted but I beleive the only reason he will play tomorrow is that with Coleman Jagielka and Baines out experience is needed and I probably agree ?
