Tim Howard

Y'know what is rubbish?

I bet there's some Evertonians out there, in fact probably on here, that want him to make a mistake on Sunday just so they can have a go.

I can't stand the man but I hope he plays an absolute blinder on Sunday as he's in goal for Everton.
I think we have seen enough of his mistakes over the last 18 months a win comes first every time I agree with you as the whole team is devoid of confidence at the moment, perhaps Tuesday's win will install confidence - I still concur Robles should have played though!

It's plain as day his times coming to an end but it's as equally obvious Robles isn't up to it, and that's Martinez opinion as well it seems. The mistake isn't constantly picking Howard regardless of form, the mistake was made a couple of years ago by bringing Robles in.

Once that's accepted it's easier to watch the games and enjoy it really.
It's not obvious Doug as the lad needs a run in the team before you can say that MOTM on Tuesday he got us into the next round Doug!

If he'd of played on Tuesday we'd of been out the cup, no way he'd of got near that header in the 91st minute. He'd of been diving low to his right. But as long as Martinez sends out the right messages, what's the point in a bit of success.

It's really not though.

Disagree mate, Robles certainly isn't the long term solution in my opinion, but he is the in-form goalie at Everton. Or rather, he isn't the out-of-form goalie at Everton. He responded well to his chance last season, and he made some decent saves in the week suggesting that he'd respond well again.

Even the mighty Southall had to step down in the end, Howard is no different. He may not be at the very end, but do you agree that his form is seriously slipping? If you do, then ask yourself what your thoughts would be if a midfield player, who we'll call Bareth Garry, was played week in week out regardless of current form?

Roberto going on about a blame culture and mentioning Stones and Barkley, he's missing the point. Most fans will be very patient with mistakes from the younger lads, they're expected after all, and they're part of the process of learning and improving.

The same doesn't apply for 36 year olds who should be the calm, reliable and experienced players. If they start continually costing you games then they need dropping, as they're clearly not going to cut it out, it'll only get worse. It's turning into a Phil Neville situation a bit, except I don't even think a 'Wigan' moment will see Howard dropped he's that stubborn.

Tims mistakes are costing us dearly. Robles has looked ok for me in his run last year and on Tuesday ... Early days he looked a bit dodgy but now he deserves a chance ... Might make a few mistakes but hey so does Howard ..! Upside is Robles will actually make some saves ... Give the lad a chance !

He was happy to drop Distin after the league cup match last season.
