Tim Howard

The goal looks a really crap one to concede, it's not right in the top corner or played with a lot of pace.

But watching it back, he's in a pretty normal position really, just left of centre and about 4 yards out. But then as the guy is about to strike he moves another yard forward and takes a slight step to his right, means his weight is slightly the wrong way and as the ball curls to his left he cannot get over far enough whereas if he was moving slightly to his left to start with he may have reached it.

But its a very minor thing and it was just a bloody good curler really.

Jasg was more at fault for his poor closing down, especially as in the second half that striker had the bal in a similar position and Jags actually came out and closed down properly.

Played well today. Poor for the goal but made a brilliant save from Horaouaoaoauaoaoau's volley a few minutes later.

No you just like to blame him for everything, he's clearly expecting Jags to close him down and stop the shot on that side, rightfully. And when he doesnt the player gets a great finish off.
He should never be that far of his line in that position even if hes expecting the lads in front of him to sort it, was obvious what the lad was going to do

I know he has a weakness on his left hand side but I have no idea how he was supposed to save their goal, short of being stood on the post.

Exactly, the shot could easily have gone the other way to his right, if any one at fault look at the defence backing off and giving him room to shoot.

Loads mate. And a DM (can't remember which).

I've not seen one person 'blame' Howard. But he has to be doing better than that.

No defensive midfielder around mate, McCarthy was covering Coleman and Barry was marking the forward to jags left on 18 yard line.

Howard was unsighted and on his 6 yard line expecting a blocking charge on the ball that never came and then with the time and space given him their forward saw an opportunity and scored a nice goal with a good finish.

It's not always Howard's fault no matter how people try and spin it.

A) it doesn't have to be just one players fault. It can be several.

And

B) Nobody is saying it was Howard's fault. People are saying he should have done better. Massive difference.

B. How could he have done better given the circumstances?

Just another excuse to bash Howard really lets not hide behind anything else Iij, not necessarily you but the agendas there from others.

Osman and Pienaar will get it as well as soon as something goes wrong in their first game back.
