Joking apart, anyone who offers an opinion against the majority may get called a wum, troll, drunk, plus an array of other more obnoxious things. I regard it as a sign of a lost argument when they do so. I don’t believe there is anyone on here trolling, well apart from that Russian Bot from Hull that’s now gone, it’s just different opinions that enrich the fabric of life....

That's just not true though. There are plenty of people who offer reasoned, considered opinions that are contrary to the majority, who never get called any of those things.

There are others who very much do - and it's fairly consistent which side of the divide an individual poster will fall...

A fair percentage of overall reported posts come from here, deffo out of cinque with the percentage of regular posters in other forums. If that makes sense.

This part of the forum tends to come and go re reports/traffic. There has been a spike in reports these last few weeks though, hence the Boss having a quiet word, because some of them should be filed under "I dont agree" and/or playing the ref.

I think we know where most of the reports are coming from. May I echo peteblue's post in this thread. There is very likely absolutely no need for the majority of reported posts. Toys being thrown out of prams springs to mind. "I don't like your opinion so I will report your post."

Care to elaborate on that and enlighten the rest of us ?

Also that claim is a lazy generalisation. I am only speculating because I've never reported a post in this forum, but I think it is safe to assume that people usually report posts because they find them offensive. There was one particular post this week which fell into that category and no doubt it was reported. The person was reprimanded and that was the end of it. You can't tar everyone with the same brush.

The only reported one poster calling me a racist an age ago - you hit me well below the belt today Bruce as I stated being ridiculed is not banter, and as a Mod you should no better in the past you have called me an idiot, and today a referral to my mental heath as I stated when you did not answer in the correct manner I am staying off the EU thread, and it's down to you - a bit of banter yes - ridiculing any poster No ....
We have joked together for an age but today you claimed you were fed up of ignorant posters who disagree with you....
You never responded to my objections of your insults- Idiot plus mental health ....a mod should know better set an example - I have disagreements with another mod on the EU thread just exchanges of contrasting alternative views...

I wasn't ridiculing you Joe, I genuinely feel bad that you've dug yourself into a mental hole whereby you dismiss things you don't know the first thing about. I can't for the life of me understand why you feel compelled to do that. It's certainly not a healthy place to be in.

Like a few in this thread, you have assumed the Boss was referring only to the EU thread re Reported posts. He wasnt.

Similar issues have occurred in most popular threads, The Border, Trump, and Labour Party spring to mind.
