This club is a joke

Game plan works fine with a proper defensive midfielder like Gueye on the pitch.

It's all down to personnel. He thought Davies could do a job and was proven badly wring.

This manager is NOT the problem.

....I think Silva has to take a lot of responsibility today, indeed I think he shoulders most of the blame. Davies never sat in front of the back four, indeed nobody sat deep. The full backs pushed on recklessly, Zouma ended up covering Digne leaving us wide open through the middle.

We were tactically naive, it’s as though we were not aware of Spurs strengths. We have to be clever.

It seems we are at a real crossroads now.

I don't think, and not with the stadium on the horizon, that we have pots of cash waiting to be spent.

If we do, we could struggle to attract the sort of players we need. Though that is Brands job.

If Silva was to prove to be yet another short-term appointment, then we are back to the cycle of change and more change. I get the opinion that we should be ruthless and "demand" success and if yet another sacking could guarantee an improvement in fortunes, I'd be all for it. Who wouldn't? Why would any of us have any loyalty to Silva. We owe him nothing.

Comparisons with Chelsea and City amongst others are moot. They could hire and fire from a position of strength, at least to a much greater degree than we can.

The only comparison of note is AVB's sacking. Even then he had done reasonably well prior.

Not that Silva will be going anywhere, the only thing is that the next appointment, be it in 12 months or 5 years, should be Brands to make, and his alone.

Things are terrible right now, but I don't see that we are loaded with options.

I really like Silva but that was suicide football today, going toe-to-toe with a team like that is crazy football. Having said that, we once again found ourselves on the end of some dreadful officiating, we should have been 2-0 and who knows what might have happened, i still think they would have won because of the amount of chances they were creating but it might have been a different game.

I'm sick and tired of this happening to clubs playing against the Top 6 (that phrase can go and die btw, no matter how true it might be). Garbage, clueless officials costing us in huge moments against Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs. It is hard enough to compete with these teams as it is without them getting the rub of the green with every decision. Today every marginal offside call for them was allowed to go whilst absolutely everything against us was called. In the second half with the ball going out, Sanchez barges Calvert-Lewin who barges him straight back - Tottenham free kick. They very nearly scored after the ball had gone out of play in the first half, which also happened to us at City in a cup semi-final a few years ago. It's utterly depressing and it happens far too often for it to be a coincidence.

As for us, unfortunately the Derby result killed the confidence of the team (and look what it's done for the RS as well). We need a win to get some confidence back but it's hard to see where it's going to come from right now. I think we need to do something big in January to get some feel good factor back, the team is completely dead at this moment and Silva needs to be careful. 5 without a win now and football is a very unforgiving business. Needs to sort this and quick. FA Cup could be a good chance to do this.

Nope. Youlre wrong.

We are just not good enough to carry out his game plan just yet. We need nbetter players.

Up to Brands to get them.
"He;s WAY too good for the players!"

Do you not see the fallacy with that? Good managers make their team better. Ferguson won the damn league with the team that Moyes had in 8th. Silva has a ton of talent in his squad and the team is 11th.

@davek I love you man and agree with quite alot you say... however how can you not see Silva is garbage?

Koeman and Alladyce got more points at this stage with utter turd in the side like Martina, Williams, Jags and Bolasie than Silva has with players like Gomes, Richarlison, Mina and Digne.

The blokes a charlatan. There are plenty of managers out there who play nice football but also balanced football and results that come with it. This fella is all fart and no ....

Moshiri needs booting for this appointment zero ambition.

You don’t like us by the sounds of it mate . So why post on an English football forum ?

Yer Tit .Wind yer neck in FFS. It's Christmas yer little Bish. So go and shoot down a High School or whatever you do.

To be honest the poison hanging over the club is Blue Bill. If ever we need a man to walk away it is now and it is him. Today was just a lesson that Davies will never be good enough and Seamus is having it rough since the injury. Pickford well he is more David Lawson than Neville Southall,

IMO we need some continuity. We’ve had so much change we just need things to settle down and allow the coach and director of football to do their jobs. Changing yet another manager will achieve nothing now. Unless we’re in a genuine crisis, real relegation danger or players downing tools, then I don’t think there should be a managerial change
